Does anyone currently use STEAM and Empire:Total War on a MacBook Pro? I am wondering this because I may be interested in buying a MacBook Pro but I want to be able to run ETW, therefore, be able to run STEAM. (I am talking about running it all in boot camp with no problems [other than the current problems windows users experience]).

I know games like Gears and FarCry and Unreal Torunament work but I have not heard about ETW.

Hey! I just got a macbook pro(2.4 ghz version) a couple days ago! I downloaded steam and the E:TW demo today onto my bootcamped vista to see how well it runs. The comp is at the lower end of E:TWs system requirements. I played with all settings on medium. The Brandywine creek battle went just fine. The computer didn't lag even a little bit. However, I played the naval battle twice and both times the game crashed towards the end of the battle.

If you want to play ETW, I highly suggest picking up the newer version of the macbook pro. It is more expensive but if you want to fight naval battles I don't think you have much choice.

Hmm, dunno if the ETW demo is a fair test of any system. It was way slower, buggier and laggier than the actual game. You go with old code, you gets what you deserves.
