Has any of us attempted it?
Is it more fun then the stupid AI?
Does it end up with 2+ player factions dominating the world then duking it out?

They're called "Hotseat" campaigns and yes, I believe there are some going on already. Basically a faction-switching script is used and, upon the end of a player's turn, the script is enabled and the faction is switched. Then the savegame is uploaded for the next player (controlling the next faction) for him to make his moves and so on.

You mean hotseat? Or PBEM? Hotseat is a M2TW Kingdoms feature. EB is not compatible with it, or at least as far as I know. PBEM is two players playing the same faction, by e-mailing the savegames.
EDIT: too slow!

Actually, you can play a Hotseat campaign with RTW (and thus EB). You just have to enable the faction-changing script.

Umm wouldn't the EB script sort of screw up then?
