Isssues with the campaign map

Sometimes when I play EB, at the campaign map level, the mouse doesn't move smoothly, and not the units either. They move "laggingly". This is a little annoying. What can I do to fix it? Campaign map settings, as far as I know, are already at the lowest.

I've no problem with the battle map at all, and in RTW Vanilla and in another RTW mod, I don't have this problem with the campaign map.

Try having a character (general, spy, diplomat, etc) exit a city and then enter it again. That usually fixes that lagginess for me.

If it's intermittent lag with sudden spurts of speed, you need to set the CPU affinity to only use one of your processors. Raygerio's suggestion also works wonders.
