Small unit numbers

Hello
The numbers of troops in my units have reduced by 2/3rds, ie a unit of 120 now only has 40 in it.
The first game i played i went bankrupt and the numbers dropped which was understandable as i couldn't pay them. I started a new game and they are already on reduced numbers. I've tried deleting the save games and reinstalling but it had no effect.
Any idea how i can get them back to full size?

Sorry if this is too obvious but you have checked the Unit Size setting in the Options menu? I can't remember exactly what the setting is called but it should be obvious - you can choose (from memory) Huge, Large, Normal and Small. If this does turn out to be the problem, I think you will need to start a new Grand Campaign from scratch to get it to take effect.

If this is the solution, you will be one of the people for whom their preferences file or settings keeps getting overwritten/reset. I'm not sure if anyone has found a permanent solution to that general annoyance. Just keep checking all the settings in Options every time you start a game.
