Has anyone else noticed that the Epeirote and Makedonian AI tends to spam this unit? Here's a typical Epeirote army in my Pahlava campaign.

That army has 2160 Thracian light spearmen and 3 levy phalanx.

I dare u to cheat and make sure no faction gets too big or is chipped away
make sure Ptolemaio looses its holding in aitolia and around antiocheia
and make sure seleukid doesnt loose too much land in the east and pahlava, saka, and baktra is controlled and does not expand too much.

Migrate the epirotes to syracuse
Dont mess with the Makedonians or koinon
make sure pontus doesnt take everything in anatolia (SP ,
Make quarthadast and lustanania have an all out war in iberia but neither side takes too much land

Wait 60 years

Then you can start expanding, and you wont see yourself fighting these kinds of troops...
infact, i did that, and now im facing pretty balanced armies of elite and klerouchi phalangites and hoplites/other types of troops instead of pantadopi and levy phalangitai in both egypt and around seleukid, even the romans got the marian reforms.

Thats where the good times of fight begins!

reply to ur answer
wait 30-40 years and make sure no faction gets too powerful

I noticed they spam a lot of light troops once they start conquering their east...

by the way...
@teh1337tim, you had a game where pontos or ptolemaioi held aitolia????? I would really like to see such AI expansion...

Unless you don't know where aitolia is:book:

Most likely meant Anatolia, not aitolia - not that hard to see the mistake in spelling

...or maybe Aetolia.. in that case it would be very weird AI...

Aetolia is Latin for Aitolia.
