I thought I would open this now, it makes a change for me to be organized for once. :balloon2:

I have some simple sigs if you want to show your support feel free to use one, there 400 x 175, I think 175 isn't too high is it? :shifty:

This can also be the sign up thread when it's my go...feel free to pre-sign up if your going to play however. Not particularly difficult to understand the rules for this game so no major surprises or annoying technical features. I'll fill in info when it is my go to host  Mods can close this if they must, but please re-open once mine starts, hopefully you can keep it open anyway.

Final note, it's not a requirement to know much about Pokemon to play, I sure don't and to be honest, I don't want to (though I know enough to host, and I have the game mechanics sorted), this is just a bit of fun. As a large game it will need more than just anime fans.

Thank you. :balloon2:

I'm looking for approximately 24 players, God help me!

I've obsessively beaten every pokemon game I've played. Sadly. The only part I hate is the relentlessly redundant battles for the purposes of leveling up. That said, I've got a few master balls in my pocket, and I'd like to show you what's inside them.

I don't really know what a Pokemon is, except for some vague concept I've drawn from the commercials for the cartoon, but I hope you all have fun.

I am happy for people to choose there pokemon, but that could result in half of the players having picachu's, 5 magicarp's and the rest sparrows.

I guess I could ask people to choose a first come, first serve, can't choose a certain pokemon if some one else has chosen it before you. But those who don't know anything about it cannot choose, therefore I think I will pm people a choice of pokemon they can choose out of, if that's ok with you's...

Oh and those who have requested a particular pokemon will probably get that in there choice.

No matter what though I will not alter this thread yet, it isn't my time, this isn't an information thread but a sign up one. :aries:

Yoyoma1910
05-01-2009, 21:36
I mean, like I said, I had seen the commercials with the little yellow thing getting electrocuted, and saying Peek-a-Chew over and over again. And then there's some fishing bobbers flying around or something.

Oh, and some dude in a hat. And I think there might have been a hot air balloon... with a cat in it, maybe?

I couldn't really tell you anything else. I suppose I could Google it, but do I really want to know too much on this subject?

Edit:

Yeah, I just went and watched some pokemon cartoon commercials on Youtube. I don't get it, except that it stands for pocket monster? But they're not really in people's pockets, right? And what's with the fishing bobber? Oh well, I guess I'll research it further another time.

Greyblades
05-01-2009, 21:56
In a nutshell its a bunch of kids run around capturing elementaly powered animals(pokemon) in a bunch of spheres that shrink the monster to pocket size and the trainers make the animals fight for them.

This will under no means have any character thingys in it, just the imaginary creatures that inhabit it. :aries:

I guess this will do as an offical thread with some OP alterations

If the name of this is changed to sign ups then all is well.

Also now My game is being hosted I will be on much more often (didn't see much point beforehand) as I know about the tight dead lines involved with a mafia game at the org.

Hence I've been allowed to slack on my TWC game which is entering it's....25th phase

Now I'm to find at minimum, 8 more players, but probably be in need of more. :san_undecided:

As expected, the number of players may need to be reduced, but thanks to all that have joined so far, the target number isn't so unbelievably hard to achieve now. :elephant:

No, I think you're still #1 on the queue, Thermal. If I recall correctly, you've got 2 or 3 days after the end of Treehouse to start yours. TinCow is likely just opening sign-ups for Rubicon early so that he gets all the players he needs, in anticipation of the end of Council of Villains (which will, incidentally, be taking a little more than 3 or 4 days to finish off).

And don't get me started on the Smurfs.

"Heeey, you have a good time last night?"
"Smurftacular"
"Yeah I saw you leave with smurfette.
"Oh dude, as soon as we got out of the bar she started smurfing me."
"Shut the smurf up!"
"Yeah!"
"Right in the smufing parking lot?"
"Smurf yeah!"
"Oh that is freaking smurf"

Quote from an Australian comedy show, about a list of things his character hates.

"The smurfs, thats right, the smurfs. I had a friend who played a drinking game, where he had to drink everytime the word smurf was said, and he died of alcohol posioning before the first ad break. You can't just write a script then replace half of it with the word smurf. 'It was the smurfiest smurf to ever smurf the **** off."

I think it may be more rep than the subject of the game. I had a similar sort of problem with Council of Villains once ATPG started sign-ups for Treehouse. I had to recruit friends of mine (of which only around 2/7 remained active) just to equal his number. :laugh4:

Askthepizzaguy

Frankly, Chaotix, I enjoyed your game as much or more than any of the recent ones. The only thing which tops it was my Lieutenant of Inishmore performance, and that's only because I got to be a murderous henchman. Bwahahahaha

Thank you.

Of course, are you sure you'll continue enjoying it? You may not find it so fun when you suddenly lose....

:laugh4:

And I was referring more to the fact that both you and TinCow are particularly well-known and popular on the forums, and therefore have a larger base of friends to draw from, while I can't say the same about myself and Ares. Still, I was pleased with the number of players I wound up getting in the end, and at the very least I recruited one player who is sure to be a mafia regular at the guild.

Both ATPG and TinCow are relative newcomers to the Backroom. Of course, I may be biased, in the fact that I still count myself as a newcomer, and anyone else who was active around the time of capo 1 or before is a veteran.

But in the case of ATPG, he may be well known, but that doesnt mean he's popular.

~:pat: There there atpg. :grin2:
