I know this has probably been posted before but I can't find any roman units when i fight as romani in custom battle. Why is this?

You need to play the custom battles through the Multiplayer rather than the Single Player application.

thanks alot, i'll try it out. Just wondering, does it take off all those merc units that confuse you so much? (like having helvetii phalanx in a bactrian stack)

Yes. Multiplayer changes the game around quite a bit, and leaves you with only factional troopes in custom battles.

Well, there are actually plenty of factional units for AS, for instance, in the single player mode. I believe they have just about every one of their units with the exception of a few, such as the renowned TABs.

You can always get the missing ones by having the computer set an army for you, of course mp is easier, but if you want all regional troops from the giant arche it could be an option.
