I've always wanted to know what, and play the most liked faction.(including elutheroi exept i can't play them.

Romani - good for alternative history role-playing, central position, varied enemies, varied fighting styles thanks to allied part of your legions while keeping particular faction character thanks to uniform roman core units. :rtwyes:
Best enjoyed when played semi-historically.:2cents:

Pontos - starting with just one province makes a good empire-building game, diverse unit roster enabling fielding several distinct armies: Persian, Galatian, Greek, Thracian, etc. Steady challenge throughout the game. :2thumbsup:

Pahlava - excellent concept of transforming nomad faction into real empire, lot of fun managing the tight budget during the first half of the game, good for alternative history role-playing. :charge:

...because usually the challenge presented to player decreases as your empire grows larger. However, if you let the AI develop - especially the Saka (and/or push Baktria to Indus valley and let them take firm rooot there) - you will get a deadly enemy even late in the game and welcomed difference from AS/Ptoly phalanxes. :skull::skull::skull:
Also the time needed to proper itroducing the reforms in former AS provinces poses iteresting logistical problems on the western border.

Well my choices were:

Saka Rauka, Pahlava, Sauromatae: I love Nomad factions:charge: - they all give a unique play experience although they can be hard to manage (I mean keeping order in the conquered provinces.... as with most factions I use "add_money" to keep the money on zero instead of in the red). Also great units in many areas.

Arche Seleukeia: I was always a Seleucid Fan. I like the mix of Eastern and Hellen cultural/ military element in all eastern greeks. And I always found recreating Alexanders Empire with the AS (and to go beyond) to be the best choice.

Makedonia: my favourite from the Western Hellenes. I considered them the true lords of Hellas since a long time and I really enjoy to destroy KH, Epeiros and (above all) thoose Romani with them:skull:

Romani: Perfect for roleplay + to create the roman empire and go beyond, Great infantry but somehow I often prefer Auxilia instead of roman factional cavalry.

Qarthadast: I played my first campaign with them and since then there my favourites (earlier on I couln't stand any Carthaginian Faction)

Alterntaive-History is my ussual way to play all of them.

Getai is my favorite. Being able to play as my ancestors, modeled as historically accurate as possible, (and then decimating those haughty polis-dwellers with falces :evilgrin:) results in a very happy me.

Epeiros. Interesting position, many possibilities, availability of Hellenic, Illyrian, Italian and Thracian units, and elephants.

This. Epeiros can form any type of army (except for cataphracts) and has a brilliant starting position. Although it becomes very easy after you have conquered Italy and Greece and built a lvl4 government and high regional barracks in Odrysai or Scorcouw. The infantry there is superior to everything.
