As a big fan of "ooh-he's-dropped-a-greenie!" games such as Sacred (putting my Baldur's Gate disciple identity aside), I was wondering if spending on Sacred 2 is worth it.
I'm definitely tempted with the way game looks and I'm already familiar with Sacred gameplay having finished the first game three times over.
Anybody ?

To keep it short:
If you liked Sacred, you will like Sacred 2. At least I did.
The new character classes are quite fun, imho a nice mixture of resembling Sacred 1 classes plus new ideas (Inqusitor skilled as a caster is great fun). The character mounts are a cool idea as well; they allow using all you abilities while mounted, horses don't.
The Graphics are veeery nice to look at, the map is huuuuuuuge, the landscape is nice to look and diverse, as are the quests. Wich brings me to the one big flaw imo: Too many quests! If you (like me) wan't to play the game to its fullest extent and do all subquests, you will be stuck in a region/city for hours and hours while doing a lot of backtracking, especially the first time around.
Apart from that a great game to kill the time until Diablo 3 arrives :2thumbsup:

Mmmm, loot gathering. :loveg:
The initial PC release had so many problems that I put off buying until it was fixed up. Then I found out it has the more restrictive version of secuROM on it, so I'm looking at the xbox 360 version instead. I do not buy PC games with limited activations. Sacred 2 comes with a punitive 2 activations; if I find games with 5 activations unacceptable there's no way on earth I will accept 2.
The xbox version is out here on the 5th of June.

This was the final hilarious nail in the coffin- from their own site:
Revocation problems can be caused by a change in hardware components on the system.
If this happens, then it is recommended to install the old hardware, revoke and then install the new hardware.~
I guess there's always the PS3 version.....

An expansion pack for Sacred 2, called S2 Ice & Blood (http://www.sacred2.com/en/news/show/detail/SACRED_2_Fallen_Angel_Erweiterung_Ice_Blood_angekuendigt.html) and Sacred 3 (http://www.sacred2.com/en/news/show/detail/Sacred_3_Arbeitstitel_in_Planung.html) (by the new brand holder Deep Silver) have been announced.
Anybody still playing Sacred 2 out there ?

I picked up the xbox version. The game's still on my pile of untouched titles; it's going to be a massive timesink and loot 'em ups are a genre I have to be in a particular mood to play.
I wonder if the expansion will be released for the console versions?

Started it out after having bought 2 months ago, Froggoddess.
The first steps seemed to make me say "I miss Sacred :(" however it appealed more as I proceeded. Graphics are out of this world. And there are so much of modifiers/feats for items that I feel lost already.

I wonder why they wouldn't.[/URL]

Expansions are still quite new territory for consoles. DLC has brought them into more prominence yet DLC is typically small modules. A few games like Oblivion or Samurai Warriors 2 have had big PC style expansions and that's about it.
Not sure how well the console versions sold either. Reviews weren't glowing, it was overhung by the financial woes of the developers, and it came out during a reasonably busy period. I get the feeling it didn't sell loads and so it might not be financially worthwhile to bring the expansion to the consoles.

I've always thought console market as what the teenagers are to the capitalism. You make points though.
