Captain: Errrm, General?
General: Yes?
C: I hate to point this out...but the city's over there...
G: Ah, but isn't the view breathtaking from here...
C: :inquisitive:
G: The Twitter of birds in the trees, the chirp of crickets, the sun on your back..
C: But the battle sir !
G: Ah...the feel of the grass on your feet, the breeze through your hair..
C: :dizzy2:.......Sir, many good men will die today, fighting in your honour!
G: Ah yes, but just look at the view!
C: Your parents were brother and sister weren't they Sir.......
G: Indeed.....and?

Not as hilarious as the guy who's rams ended up in a clearingi n the woods(rams cannot move through woods).

The commentary, though, is quite funny.
I say, perhaps we should compile all of these wacky pictures into one thread. Loads of laughs, I'll bet.

Reminds me of the old 'caption' this screenshot thread. :)

(rams cannot move through woods).
Yes they can. And you are not suppose to start out at the edge of the map in a siege assault abttle either. But once, I had reinforcements with rams come to my aid in a siege of a Gallic city. They first moved through dense forest and then through woods.
All you have to do is tell them to move by right-clicking a location outside of the forest, and they will move. One cannot move them inside the forest, but ordering them to get out of it works well enough.

I had exactly the same with the Romani! The ram eventually got there though.:2thumbsup:
I also had a that the enemy also had a ram in the inside of the town... (1.0):dizzy2:

I also once had a "funny" siege battle. I was attacking Alexandria with a rather small stack and the enemy sallied....anyways, I got deployed INSIDE the city, on a street with phalanxes blocking every possible exit. I thought I was in trouble until the AI decided to start moving all of its units to absolutely random places. No idea what got into them...

Cheers, Drewski; this was a good way to start the day!
Also, use javelins much?!

You're welcome :)
And no not that much, it was the bits and pieces you start with as Ptol banded together..

Ah, I remember.
*starts a campaign*
"My lord! Our cities have furnished us with an army fit to conquer the known world! Behold! [a gaggle of assorted levy skirmishers]!"
:inquisitive:
Clearly the AI believes your army is fat and needs exercise.

Yes and maybe you may retreat with the attraction of the view :laugh4:

I might have to edit the subtitles file (assuming I can find it) to say this; then again I'm the only one who plays RTW/EB on this machine...

I actually just made myself laugh, Imagining the Hellenic FM's saying it in that heavy pseudo-Greek accent...."pEEEK-nEEEK"----("You want salad and cheee-leeey sauce with that peeps?")
