Hi folks!
I read nearly all I found in this forum about my subject so I understand that pastoralism gives you more infantery and the heavy cav whereas nomadism gives you more nomadic cav and nomadic elite cav.
In my case in nomadism settlements I can recruit dahae riders, dahae nobles, parthian ha and some skirmisher cav, enabled by the warlords court and camp. But when I build the royal versions of these buildings, I don't get more units. Maybe because there aren't more in the unit rooster, but why then the improved court and camp? Is there an even more unecessary "high king" version for pahlav?
thx

might help:

@ ziegenpeter,

the Royal and High king's Herds are designed to use in Pastoral settlements. In fact, I'd recommend pastoralism for the majority of Pahlava's settlements, they are the only "nomadic" faction that gets regular Horsearchers from Pastoral settlements. The only places I'd recommend Nomadism for are those where you can get the Dahae nobles and riders (or where there is no other option). In nomad settlements there is generally no benefit to developing the camps and courts above "warlord's" level, but in Pastoral settlements, developing them to Royal and High Kings levels is what gets you your Armored Horsearchers and Cataphracts. The truly high level units come after the reform, which requires Pastoral settlements anyways.

More info on the reforms here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=110152&highlight=reform) and here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=110423&highlight=pahlava+reforms).
