I tried to use the search function on the backroom, but it is not listend there. It should be in the tavern sub category, but it isn't.
Is that on purpose?

Yes. The search function is very resource-intensive, and the Backroom is one of our bigger forums.

In any case, Backroom has 219 pages, Frontroom 179 and Entrance Hall 290. ahem. :grin:

If there was some way to host a searchable version of them on another site, I could volunteer mine. I'm paying for a whole lot of bandwith and server space I just aint using. I could host these here forums without a problem, paying $9.48AUS a year. I love knowing people who own a server. :grin2:

People always send me PMs about how they can't search the Backroom the way I can. They just assume I have a magical tool that lets me dig up old threads. And I tell them over and over again that the only way to find stuff in the Backroom is the old-fashioned way, page by painful page.

Backroom search is an urban myth, friends.

I don't know what this thread is about. When I was writing this I was going through a forum. And the only thing I can say about it is that it's obviously in anger. It's the angry side, or the bitter side of a response. So what makes it even more comical is when I hear these stories which started many years ago, particularly in the Watchtower, of someone come up to me and say, 'Did you really see someone browsing the Backroom?' I said, 'No, wrong'. And then every time I go back to the Watchtower the story gets Chinese whispers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_whispers), it gets more and more elaborate. It's so frustrating, 'cos this is one thread out of all the replies probably that I've ever written that I really don't know what it's about, you know. - Lemur.

I remember doing a Backroom Search just a month ago. I still remember the query. I was searching for all of the fabled Pindar's posts.
