It seems as tho everybody is always saying that they have a lot of work. It seems as tho everybody here is either in college, High school or is at work. Am i the only real kid here?
there are alot of people who are about 20 or younger, but I don't think there are many who are quite so young as you are.

I am 29 turning v soon to 30 but know a couple who are even over 50 here. The 'oldest' one I know in here if I'm not mistaken is 57.

Well, I dont drink alcohol, so I think coffee is a great drug of choice instead. I know that If i tried, I could quit, (I went a week with no caffiene) its just that I really like the way coffee tastes.
Of course it is the taste...
@Grandpa Tarkus: Yes, that was I was getting from Atraphoenix too. What he says is just sad, really really sad.
I think that the biggest change that comes with age is time! (Inverse relationship). The rest is either in one's head or simply 'up to you'.

I simply hate that foul bitter taste that coffee has.
And I also detest the taste of cheap alcohol, I only like the good stuff, so even if I wanted to drink enough to become addicted(which I don't think I ever would) I wouldn't be able to afford to :laugh4:

Fifteen years old, in 11th grade. Absolutely no time for EB though. Since the end of Winter Break, I have played about 10 hours of EB. This whole summer I will be taking summer classes and Internet school for extra credits.
P.S. Notice the impeccable bell curve
Sixteen years of age, finishing up my 11th year, turning seventeen in July.
I'm rather ashamed to say that despite taking numerous difficult classes (2 A.P. courses and a few other Honors classes), I still manage to play about 2 hours of EB every weekday. On weekends, I manage about 4 to 5 hours. Don't take this as a statement of arrogance, though. Rarely do I get more than 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night due to my habits.

Umm, what grades do you have and what is the level of your school? I have community service, SAT, 2 AP, 2 DE classes (Dual-Enrolment, basically AP without the AP test, giving you a college credit upon passing of the class). And my GPA is 4.8 something. Which is going to rise after I take my summer school at the local college as well as after some Internet classes. Oh, and my school is a highly, selective, "A" school, which is public, but entirely privately funded. It is also a technical school, with numerous career fields to choose from.

4.8 GPA? Strange, straight A's get only a 4.0 here. I have 4.07 (two A+) as a junior (11th grade) in high school. I also do some work for my local soccer association, along with getting paid as a referee on Saturdays (excellent money to be gotten here). I decided to skip on the dual-enrollment since although I can drive, my mother doesn't want me going anywhere by myself just yet. Plus, I'm not sure the university I plan on enrolling in would allow me to transfer those credits.
My school is simply a public school, though it can boast being the second largest (in terms of size, not students) in the state. The teachers are well-qualified, but the switch to a trimester schedule this year drove most of us insane. Idiotic administration...

If you take extra honours, AP, or DE classes, Frontline1944, then the .025 GPA will be added from each class to your overall GPA. I have met students with 5.1 GPA. Nothing special.
I have 2 AP classes and 1 Honors. Only 4.07, and that's because I have a few A+ currently. My school doesn't compensate for more rigorous classes, apparently.
Okay, perhaps you can tell me how my GPA should be in reality?
AP Chemistry - 96%
AP Gov - 96%
Spanish III - 97%
Honors Precalculus - 100%
Literature and Society - 103%
4.75?
Owen Glyndwr

Our school is a little different. We only offer AP/Honors, none of that other stuff you described. And the grades are weighted so A=5 points B=4 C=3 D/F don't get a weight. Meaning that if you took 6 AP classes for 4 years, and got A's in all of them you would have a 5.0. Also we don't weight based on + or -, it's just letter grade. That would explain why your GPA appears so high to me lol, because our Valedictorian has a 4.35. I have like a 4.01 or .02
Also our school is now implementing the idiotic idea of taking the AP test as a requirement for the inflated GPA, meaning that the students are basically paying 85$ for their grade (which is more ridiculous now as most UCs require a GPA of over 4 to get in)

I'm at university in Britain and we have a completely different system to your GPA. Each uni (and department generally) can choose how the marking is done (exams, coursework/essays etc) and at the end you get a degree. This is classified either as an ordinary (very few people get this - in fact my uni would chuck me out if I got this grade in my upcoming frst year exams) or with honours (3rd class is bottom, then you have 2:2 lower second, 2:1 upper second and the best is a first class). They are talking about changing this as it is a bit illiogical at times (I mean why on earth do you need an upper second and lower second?).
Man with no name, looks like your on your own in the youngest category there. I got RTW a couple of months after release and I was older than that then (although only just)...

28 and
... and a few silver hairs on me head...
since i´m 16
Oh, I am so sorry. That is quite sad. But why???
Its because of the way I live; Its difficult:laugh4:
don't get me wrong, my family is good, and we aren't poor these days, but because of my station in the family, it gets ugly; on average, I have to go on foot every day 10-20 miles, often carrying up to50Lbs worth of stuff (books, coke, errands, etc), often in bad weather, and I forbid myself accepting rides, except from family. that of course will wear my joints down. It doesn't help that accidents are common; I actually injured my ankle the other day on the way home slipping on the wet grass in a gulley-tore my sandal up good as well:clown: . and unlike most of humanity, sprained ankles don't stop me-I just limp to work/errands and back home (apparently, pain doesn't get much at me).
the heavy weights, and an accident I had the day after my 18th birthday (go-cart hit a pole going 40mph :embarassed:), have hurt my back, and caused a few slipped discs.
I can't eat much (little time), and what little I can eat isn't checked for quality (fruits are a big worry), so my stomach is shot to shit-that, and I've always had that since childhood. a really bad case almost killed me when I was 6 months old. I actually lost weight in the 3 years I've been in the USA- about 130 lbs, and 5'11".
and remember, all this manual labor comes with the responsibilities of college (I've been on the dean's list three times :beam:) family (I'm the oldest male in the family now that dad is stuck in Kuwait), and the thump and bang of my hick brothers stres me out-and that gives me the slivers of silver hair. the only free time I have is on here (most of the time you see the light on my profile, I'm not actually there, as I leave regularly for a quick errand):clown:
and why all this shortens my life expectancy: I don't complain-ever; I haven't visited the doctor in 3 years-mostly because its too damn expenive here-and dental care is non-existence. my family doesn't even know, because I don't tell them. the docs I'm referring to are in fact known by writing, and the calculation given led to the short one. the funny thing is, in theory, I'm supposed to have a longer than average life at this rate-apparently, high IQ's and better sanitation in general are all I got.
in sum: I'm way too harsh on myself :clown:
however, I'm glad to say: I'm getting a car soon (I have a permit, and will soon get a license), so a good deal of the trouble will vanish,(plus I'm darn proud of "the tough life").:sweatdrop:

maybe, but life's tough-got to work for the rewards.:shame:
besides, I do not want to travel he same road as my family has done so far; my sister is a lazy dropout who can't get a GPA because she's too lazy to study right, one brother's IQ is below average, and can barely pass school, and one other brother who was moved here because he was too lazy to pass the kuwaiti schools-a tribute more to his laziness and America's messed up primary education than anything. and they can't get work because they have no skills-including physical. so I must push on regardless of the trouble.
when I am secure as a paleontologist and my family is safely away, I might be able to relax a little :clown:

I'm 19 and I feel old. I kinda want to be a teenager again, only with the brain I have now.
Ah, but the trouble, my friend, is that having the brain you have now would be the factor that makes you NOT a teen again. :D
I'm 16 myself. 17 in a few months.
Just how old are you TMWNN? Erm, make that OP. :) If you don't mind my asking.

This really, really needs to go on the main forum. More people will reply and this does not belong in the AAR section much either.

Well, Ibrahim, truly I wish you the most happy of retirements, when you reap the fruits of your hard labors.
It is admirable that you want to pay your own way. Have a balloon as a mere pittance of the appreciation I have for someone who follows the real American dream (although perhaps a bit hard). :balloon2: Well, you probably can't see it b/c of .org issues, but it should be green. :P

I'm 16 and still trying to get my license. Where I live you need to have a permit for 9 months and then you need 50 hours driving experience in order to be even qualified to get a license. https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/images/smilies/gc/gc-inquisitive.gif

Same here. I am about to take the exam for the permit. After which I will wait for a year to get a real license, practising my driving meanwhile.
17 and can't be arsed to get a license yet, no need for quite a while, and since my friends can already drive... :)

50 hours? Erg.
I didn't have a set number of hours to drive before I did my driver's test (couple months ago). I just had to have my permit for a year.
I don't know about 50 hours, but I'm sure I racked up quite a few.
Well, good luck to you! :2thumbsup:

I assumed that you are too, being that you are here for 1/2 the year. Or are you not going to get a US license?
And I've heard that other states require x # of hours.

How'd you get onto the TW series, strategos?
Actually (not to hijack the thread) but it would be neat if y'all would mention your age and how you started on TotalWar.
If the original poster wills it, that is.
I was introduced to Rome by a friend of mine a couple years ago. Then I forgot about it, not doing much gaming at the time. But then, as my fascination of history (especially military history) grew, I thought that RTW looked really neat; especially the ability to mimick ancient tactics which I love so much. So I went out and got it. YAY!
well, I was 17 and heartbroken, so I decided to get something to get my mind off of her.
I got it the same day I got the laptop I'm writing on-June 28, 2007:yes:
I got my EB 0.8 in spetember, and got 1.0 on release day.
I got my favorite mod back in november of said year-IBFD.

With my interactions with people it's not how old physically I care about but how old they act.
I started playing Total War for some reason I cannot recall with Medieval Total War then got extremely hooked with Rome Total War. Been a big follower ever since then.

The only reason it's skewed so much is because your intervals weren't all of equal size.
