Hey guys and gals, I thought that by now we would start seeing topics like "Frodo's Handy Guide to Franceness" and "101 Ways to Fight With Only a Sloop and a Butcher Knife". Where are all of the folks who do this full time job? ;) I am only a part timer my self, since I have a full time job (being crazy). Let's get those stickies up there!!!

Yes, but you know what he means. Detailed guides by a single person, which tend to go into more depth than the default guide sections in the Org. From memory, Spraeter's (sorry about the spelling) guide to Sweden was good, but I don't have the link on me.
EDIT: What do you know. It looks like I did spell 'Spraeter' right.
EDIT #2: Oh wait, no I didn't. It's a double 't.' Grr.....
These are the ones I ended up using.

It's kinda hard for anyone to write a definitive guide to a game when its rules change as dramatically as they did after patch 3 (ETW v1.2).
Can we even be sure the economic model is stable now?

You hit the nail on the head. The very questionable state this game was released in may also have something to do with the reason that this is the very first Total War game ever released that was not also accompanied by a commercial Stategy guide by the likes of Brady or Prima.
There have always been some subsequent game balance adjustments after release that made some of the stat data in such guides incorrect, but nothing as massive as the last patch and those hinted at in patches to come for Empire---not to mention the number of "new units" that are going to be added according to the update thread.

Sure!
And you know what, even the units change their stats.
Before the patch steamships were some of the best naval units going. Now they are worthless!
Would some one from CA care to justify that one?
Likely not!
Anyway they are now a carronade frigate that can sail into the wind. Not very useful and the hull is too weak to close range with anything meaningful.
Now we hear they are nerfing artillery and all the ammunitions so the online crowd doesn’t have to use house rules governing how much you can have.
You make it worthless and then no one will want it…that’s logical…no?
Rather than ruin the game to keep the PvP crowd appeased why don't they just introduce special PvP versions of the units. This whole balance thing is a load of :furious3:

Wow guys, I didn't mean to open such a can of worms ;). Mabie now that things are starting to settle down a bit some of the reallllly good players could start writing some guides and geting the mods to sticky them or make a new section for them like for the other games. How about it? I just wanted to know if there was some interest out there for such a project.

Well, the game is a work in progress.
I guess guides will need to wait a bit so we can actually see how the darn thing plays when they make the next change.
