I noticed how your generals can gain unit-specific command bonuses when they win leading forces predominantly made up of infantry or cavalry units (and probably arty too, I just don't use enough to know). So, I started breaking my stacks up by type and making sure each had its own general. So, I might have an infantry stack with a general and 10 infantry units, a cavalry stack with a general and 4 cavalry units, and an arty stack a general and 3 arty units. When I siege a city, I'll have all 3 stacks siege the city. I usually auto-resolve sieges, which don't seem to suffer from have units as reforcements rather than part of the main stack.
What I'm wondering is, when I do this, will only the general of the stack that initiated the attack get any bonuses for wins or will all 3 generals get bonuses? My gut tells me that if I auto-resolve it, all 3 generals get bonuses because the AI treats each stack as a seperate army, but if I command the battle only the general of the stack that initiates the battle will get bonuses, because in that situation the other stacks are treated as subordinate parts of a single army.
What do you think? Have any of you fought a battle with 2+ stacks that had their own generals, and had bonuses be awarded to both generals?
