Honestly flabberghasted , stunned , almost at a loss for words.
I seriously thught that given the apparent complete lack of forward planning it was going to be a disaster.
FFS even 6 weeks ago the main venue was a topic of "who owns it?" "who is going to demolish it and how long will it take" ....bloody hell there re not many places where someone doesn't know who owns the main oil terminal for the region.

BUTand thats a bloody big but, when it comes to a party the west is awake . Galway has delivered a faultless street party of epic proportions :2thumbsup:

Oil terminal sale to boost the Volvo Ocean Race (the "party").

Galway is his town (hence: "Tribesman" (http://www.galway1.ie/faq/tribes.htm)). He's stunned the gov't figured out a way to do the deal.

Maybe.

A street party crowd of 150,000 for a bank holiday 3 day weekend with "free" entertainment...sounds like quite a party. How much beer would it take to slake that size crowd's thirst? I bet Tribesman got his share.~:barrel:

Hold on , its been on for the week before the bank holiday and will be on for the week after too.
big weekend festivals are not unusual , week long festivals are fairly common , but this is 15 days of pure party.....its even bigger than the races or arts festival

Ahh, bad info on my part then. Here's the article (http://www.galwaynews.ie/7664-sun-set-shine-crowds-150000). No mention of a 2 week bash...maybe they were afraid they'd run out of beer.:laugh4:

Ah I see ...

Galway’s hosting of the Volvo Ocean Race moves up a gear for the Bank Holiday weekend.

it was moving up a gear because it was a long weekend:2thumbsup:

When it comes to being able to walk into a pub after"closing time" listen to a band all through the eary hours , be thrown free food by the publican then leave at 6AM to walk to the beach and find the water full of people with a dozen musicians doing a session by the diving boards then life doeasn't really get much better:2thumbsup:
Oh and thre consensus is that Boston really sucked and Rio didn't quite know how to party.
Ireland might be a backward ****hole , but they know how to party out West:laugh4:
Then again I is getting too old , 3 days without sleep and I am pretty ****** up by now.

You sound strangely... human.

I thought you were some sort of computer virus that spammed smilies and said bollox and had encyclopedic knowledge on random subjects.
