Not sure if this is a known bug, I've certainly never seen it happen before, but then I've never bothered to use an agent to infiltrate an army before.

As Poland, i had infiltrated a Crimean Khanate force on its way to one of my eastern regions, and the attempt was successful. The agent became a part of the enemy army, as opposed to just standing in front of it, so i assume they move with the army until they get kicked out. The attempt was definitely succesful and the agent definitely still alive, and after the infiltration i did not end turn, I immediately attacked the army and defeated them.

With only 7 soldiers remaining, their army disappeared from the map, and I enjoyed the animation of an officer in my army sticking an officer of the enemy army with his sword, as happens every time you defeat an enemy army and the disappear from the map.

It was at this point I noticed my agent had not dropped out of the enemy stack. Apparently he died with them, for I checked the agent tab and he isn't there either.

So, beware infiltrating enemy armies if you intend destroying them.

Rake's definitley do move with the infiltrated army. You have to be careful to pull them out in the same turn as they sneak a peak or what you describe happens and they get killed along with the rest of the stack ( :( boo).

If left in the stack, and the stack moves into a settlement (where infiltration success rates are much lower -odd that, seeing as cities are full of random people) duringt he AI's turn, your agent can die from the tougher city security. :( another reason to pull agent sout as soon as they've had a peek.

If you have a rake and you send them to infiltrate the enemy army, do you just expect them to just go in and come straight out. As for him getting killed in a fight, I doubt you expect him to be disguised as an officer's wife. "Being" a soldier is really his only option.

I once did this with a fleet. but unfortunately, he was killed because i had no choice; he couldnt leave the navy he infiltrated, so i had to destroy it. even though it was in port, he could not leave and was killed :\

It does not happen every time I have had them pop out at the end, but the first time it happened to me was the first time I infiltrated an army…I couldn’t get him out and I was not letting the army get away.

i just thought of osmething:

wat if having a rake in an aenemy army was placed in a unit if you fought that army, and 3/4 of the unit turned and attacked their own men? like in kingdoms the byzantine emperors special ability.

It wouldn't happen because there are no byzantines in this era, and nationalism runs freely.

was....was that supposed to be funny?

i meant like the emperors ability in kingdoms given to rakes so they can make some of the enemy fight against their general.

I fail to see how that could be a good idea. Ahistorical, absurd, and overpowers rakes.
