I think, that a future game of TW series shold be about a post-apocalyptical fictional world with factions derived from our modern nations, who survived an will struggle to dominate the neo-medieval world.
I think that kind of game will be THE BEST EVER from the Total War Series and the people will enjoy it.
The gameplay can be similar with the other TW games, campain map wouldn't have to be so different, some futuristic tipes of settlements and forts and buildings, and in the case of units, we already heave musketeers, artilerry and skirmish units, and perhaps even some futuristic verion of cavalry could be maintained, because in that future the oil would be spared only for very powerful machines so if an army wants mobillity, i think the cavalry will reemerge
I hope I contributed with a good ideea....

One is apocalyptical, and one is post-apocalyptic. Same thing, actually, just strangely worded.

Muskets?
Even without oil, I'd think we'd still be capable of rifling our guns, so no I think it would be rifles. Why would it be neo-medieval? I don't know if CA would want to pick up something not covering an historical period, although it may make a good mod somewhere down the line...
Also consider doing a quick read through of your post next time, you'd be amazed at just how many spelling errors you can pick up that way.

Owen Glyndwr, perhaps you didn’t noticed but in the past century we have an international language which is not as you think it is.
If you go to Poland, Thailand, Egypt, Brazil, Armenia….etc. you will won’t be able to find there anyone who speaks “Shakespearean” English but you will find people who speak English and could understand you.
The historical international language – LATIN – which is incomparable with English was spoken in the Senate in one way, in the streets of Rome in another way and in the provinces, or between soldiers or between Romans and their clients and collaborators in a third way (Vulgar Latin).
So if I am not a native speaker then I speak the vulgar English, international English, vanilla English whose main role is to be understood by a foreigner who understands some English words not to be grammatically perfect.
I hope I didn’t done many mistakes in this text

anyways......
You might want to check this m2tw mod, Thera: a new beginning.
This is an excerpt from the thread:
"Historical Background
Thera is a world much like ours, but she has been punished by the gods. For two centuries she has been ravaged by plague and natural disasters.
At the start of 'Great Torment' as it became known Volcanos erupted, the land was shaken by earth quakes, black rain fell, and the sun was blotted from the sky. After this the the winters lasted longer and longer, the snows in the north refused to melt. In the normally fertile central lands, the crops withered and died. With the crops gone, there was no feed for livestock, and so they perished. Soon it was the people who withered, as the weakened populations scumbed to disease and plague. The entire world population was decimated and many great nations fell.
Now a century after the end of 'Great Torment', old empires are struggling to re-establish their lands, and fresh new nations are developing aspirations of greatness."
Not quite with guns nor is it based on real Earth but it is along the lines of what you are talking about. It looks pretty cool. Sorry, I am presuming you have m2tw.

thank you Galain, I like Thera, and for others: I like historical accurate games but I also like alternate history and futuristic games because they involve extrordinary imagination...and Einstein said that "Imagination will rule the world"

this thread should be closd; no one, specially TW, will make this, and even if they did, it would not sell and they would be sued for coprytight infringement.
drop the bad ideas and realize you are the only on who thinks money should be wasted on this; there have already been several apocalyptic/post-apocalyptic mods released for R:TW and M2:TW, and there is at least 1 in development for E:TW.
i do not mean to be mean, it is just annoying. if you are offended, than please explain to me and i will change it.

CA worked on Stormrise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stormrise). Though I never had the chance to play the game, I'd imagine the idea of the post-apocalyptic theme is already featured in it.
Furthermore the game was relatively, if not universally, panned by most gaming magazines. I personally think that any game of the Total War Franchise carrying beyond 20th century warfare would ruin its historical theme. As dissapointing as it may sounds, CA probably won't make such a Total War game anytime in the near, forseeable future.

Prussian to the Iron

probably shogun 2, followed by rome 2. after that(which won't be for at least another 7-8 years), im not sure if they would do a medieval 3 or an amepire 2. maybe just stop?
i guarantee you they will not make a game like you described. i doubt anyone would make something that crappy.
+ dunedain and eye of sauron=sue sue SUE
I would definitely love a TW title in any fantasy or sci-fi setting :2thumbsup:
Not sure if CA would ever do it, but one can only hope.

shogun 2, rome 2 :((
Sounds so…..conservatory, we already played shogun and rome
...perhaps India TW or Three Kingdoms TW will be...
and about the stuff with "the eye of sauron", was taken from a novel to be an example for imagining a neo-medieval society. I tuck it only as an example, and it’s not to be taken ad literam.

and thank you Andres, I’m glad that you like it, it’s good to know that everyone likes it except John, he’s the only one who hates such a game.
I don’t mind him but he sometimes thinks he knows what will do or will not do the team (CA).

look mr. 14 posts:
andres was the only one who liked it. it will not happen. it will never happen. and you are obviously a 9 year old who wasted half an hour single-key typing that whole piece of garbage you call an idea for a game.
and, ive nver played shogun. imagine if we had shogun and rome, but way more high-tech and graphically awesome.
There's no need for personal attacks vs. a fellow Orgah, John-117.
Age, member status nor postcount are relevant.
Anyway, welcome to the Org, Imperator Invictus and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll just keep hoping together with you that some day, we'll have a TW title in a sci-fi or fantasy setting :jumping:

Actually I would not mind such a game either if it incorporated good ideas and real original content - and considering the popularity of e.g. Warhammer I do not think that it would only target a niche market
