Hi,

I've played and conquered all the greek peninsula, dacia up to the border with the sweboz, the crimea peninsula up to the border with sauromatae, the turkish peninsula to susa and ekbatana, the full ptolemaic empire, the cartaginean empire, the whole hayasdan territory, the whole italian peninsula and the islands near it....why doesn't show me the winner dialog box? is it a bug? I've got all the territory that it appears in the map for the makedonia faction, but it seams that something is wrong...can anybody help me please?...

Are you absolutely sure you conquered all regions that are listed in the victory conditions? Seems weird to me if you did and still haven't yet gotten the victory message.

Yes, I'm 100% sure. I could send you a saved game or I could try to create a screen-shot (I don't know if the Print-Screen will work, but I can give it a try)....10...

any more help!?

thank you very much!

I would suggest checking the victory conditions under your leaders traits. I do not think all of the victory conditions maps are up to date.

Indeed, I agree with Nirvanish (kickass name btw :2thumbsup:). Of course, it could always be - as you guessed from the start - be a random bug.

could be Rhodos :D I coud imagine a fullstack of Greeks sitting there and collecting Tanagra figurines instead of invading you. which reminds me the victory conditions say that you have to vanquish the KH, is it possible that they hold Emporion or some other far away province?

no, it ain't rhodos or any other small island...i've crushed them all...but i'm gonna try out the info below the faction leader to see what do I have to do to obtain victory...

Have you activated the script when you started your campaign and every time you loaded a saved game?

No, I haven't. Can you please tell me how to activate the script?!

Thank you very much.

SO,

I have activated the script on-load, I have seen the victory conditions listed in the factory leaders property, I have tested that I own all the required regions and that I have destroyed/outlasted epeiros y hellenon and I WANT TO ASK YOU IF THE END OF THIS GAME IS A BAD JOKE?

...or is it a BUG - a big one - or do you have any more bright ideas?

Why a joke? The fun is to play, not to obtain any silly reward for winning. How anyone can miss the advisor saying "please activate the script by clicking the show-me-how-button" AND the occasional loading screen saying the exact same is beyond my imagination.

You played through the whole way without even turning the script on?

That stinks. You missed out on half the stuff that makes EB so good. Such as the various non-aggression treaties, the money script that makes the AI factions stronger, the four seasons/turns a year, the reforms, the Olympic Games, etc, etc.

Anyway, either get Fraps (Google it), which is a program that takes your screenshots and instantly converts them to JPEG or Print Screen and then go to the Screenshot folder inside your RTW and open the screenies using GIMP (since the screenshots are originally TGA files).

If you want to learn to take screenshots, read the "Writing and aar-a guide". Its in my sig. It explains everything. I think.

I prefer Irfanview. Very sleek program and doesn't give me unneeded stats in my screenshots.

You can disable the stats in FRAPS. Open FRAPS, then click the FPS tab. Uncheck all the "benchmark statistics" options. Then in the black square that says overlay corner, click the "disabled" radio button. Go to the screenshots tab, and make sure the "include framerate overlay on screenshots" checkbox is unchecked. That will give you clean screenies.

AFAIK, stats are disabled by default.

For the most part, yes, except for the "overlay corner" box. I had to disable that myself, but I have the registered version, so they may have different installation defaults in the free version now (I've had FRAPS for a long time).

Ok, so what now?!

Do I have to start all over again to conquer more than 80 settlements and activate the script?!

Or cand I do it another way so I can finish the game?

Thanks!

Hmm, if you really wanted to see the message appearing, I guess reloading and activating the script would do the trick.

But if I were you, I'd just start another campaign. I don't really like the late-game anyway, and since you seem to have overrun most opposition...

Remember you MUST activate the script every single time you start up the game. Otherwise it could create bugs. Also, if you already activated a script during one session and you want to play on a different save, you have to turn of EB and then turn it back on in order to play a different save.

Trust me, you want to script on, it makes EB, well, EB.

What does it matter if you get a little message box saying "You win"? You've played half of a game, missed out on all the richness of EB, and your greatest desire is for the victory screen. Just marvelous.

Hmmm, I have the "free but already registered" version. If you know what I am hinting towards ;P
