OK, just downloaded the game 3-4 days ago and love it as much as its predecessors.
Got into the Road to Freedom campaign because I was a bit rusty in TW mechanics and I like to explore all the possible features of the game. + I suppose it might unlock something.
The thing is I got through chapters I and II without any problem, took Louisburg, or whatever it`s called, and the window saying I unlocked chapter III appeared, but no new missions. I kept going and finally conquered everything the french owned in the un fogged map. Have a ton of money, loads of soldiers, everybody loves me and nowhere to go. What am I doing wrong?
I know I can jump into Grand Campaing but I`d like to finish this one.
Thanks for any advise.

i think you can keep playing even if it is unlocked..........

have you tried going back to the RTI(road to independence) screen and seeing if chapter 3 is unlocked?

if it is still locked, simply re-do chapter 2. i personally hate chapter 2 and had to do it twice, so instead of making a serious campaign, i simply spammed all the guys i possibly could and auto-resolved all the battles. easy as pie.

Thanks for the quick reply John-117. As a fact I restarted chapter II of RTI (thanks for the correction ) and the same thing happened when the window appeared saying Chapter III was unlocked, gonna keep playing and take every bit of land from the french and see what happens.
Cheers!!

if chapter 3 hasnt been unlocked on the screen after 2 victories, i dont think it will. my reccomendations?

find all of your non-RTI saves and back them up on a disc.

uninstall all remnants of E:TW from your hard drive, plus click (delete local game data).

re-install and put ur saves back in and see what happens.

When you get a mission take that city and no others. that mission is bugged where if you take the cities by land the RTI campaign bugs up. So when you get the mission to take that 1 city with forts and cities blocking the way take it by sea, then all works fine

Woah hold on. There seem to be some extreme solutions here or I am not understanding your problem.

The way I remember it you can play Chapt 2 til the end but you dont automaticly move to Chapt 3. I had to go back out to the main menu and select to start Chapt 3.

Just so you know...you pretty much start over again. Its kind of like moving to the next lvl in Command & Conquer. So those badass Generals that you have in Chapt 2. right now; say goodbye to them =(

Yeah! that was my thought when I read this. Basically, you are unlocking the next Episode in The Road To Independence Campaign, so if you save your game and go back to the main menu you should find Episode 3 waiting for you to play.

[Ok! just double checked and Episode 3 is the campaign which starts with the one-off battle scenario of Bunker Hill, you fight that battle and then go straight into the war for independance campaign. Which, assuming you win, unlocks Episode 4.]

Episode 4 is actually the Grand Campaign played as the United States.

but you do have to select chapter 3 from the menu right? i said that and no one listens to me of course...........

Yes. Its not a seemless move to the next Chapter like 1 to 2 was.

I would have perfered that as a matter of fact instead of having to start over from scratch again.

set graphic settings back to automatic before taking louisburg. that solved the issue for me.

Yes! As soon as you have unlocked Episode 3 you can quit the campaign (though I'd save it first just in case) and then select Episode 3 from the main menu and start that as your next campaign.

Just curious, but am I right in thinking that this game has been edited for the American market?

I notice that this thread is title 'Road to Freedom', whereas in my game the campaign is called 'Road to Independence'. If so I wonder what else they have changed.

No the OP mis-typed. It is in fact, the Road to Independence.
