To all you who enjoy EB!
There is a Play-by-mail campaign in the throne room with your name on it!
It is called Will of the Basileus (WotB) You play as a general (or family member) in the council of the Arche Selukeia. Be a soldier or a politician! OR BOTH! This game should have real appeal to those who like to roleplay their own campaigns. Visit the Throne room, and check it out. Read the FAQ and wahtnot and see if it tickles your fancy.
There are a few avatars open right now inside the family tree, and new avatars can be recruited.
Your only limit is your ambition!
Having played in both King of the Romans and Last of the Romans I can say that these games are incredibly fun and offer a level of immersion that can't be found elsewhere. Now that I have a reliable internet connection again I'm joining WotB. I would encourage anyone thinking of it to give the game a try. The Seleucids are a huge faction that can use a lot of generals so any new player will likely have lots to do right away.

I have been thinking on trying it - I have always bee na great fan of the Arche. The only problem is however that my comp is getting down with trouble and until it gets fixed I have no acces to EB. When its done and I have a secure internte connection once more I plan to join.
Allow me one question however: what does the "Will of the Basileus mod" change if I may ask?

if you cannot play EB right now. It doesn't matter that much. You can still be part of an army. you just cannot lead it or fight its battles. You still can take an active role in the council. And even if you are not a huge fan of the Arche, its still fun. I don't really like the Arche myself, but because of the certain limitations you are given because of the roleplay (ie you control only one person and his army if he has one, or political limitations, my character is Galatian, so it was somewhat hard for him to be taken seriously politically until he made a name for himself on the battlefield.) So you really have to make political alliances with other players in order to get your edicts or ammendments passed, or possibly to usurp the throne, or even separate and create your own kingdom, which is what has happened now, We have a player (Cultural Dizz Fan) who was the Satrap of Babylon, and he and a few others separated creating their own Kingdom.

It doesn't change a whole lot, it just makes generals recruitable everywhere (so we can easily add new players) and maybe one or two other small things. Its easy to enable and disable so it won't mess up your install at all.
