Hmmpphh.. my KH campaign against those romaioi didn't produce much hillarious pics, so I leave those Philoromaios without any harm now....
BTW, I had some other pics (Sadly no one depicts romaioi killings), hope this will be funny enough...

Really? I took it from the old Russian joke "Mosin-Nagant for sale - never discharged; dropped thrice", referring to the great retreats the Red Army made in 1941. Where did you get yours from??
The French obviously. Though somewhat unfairly. :book:
Aemilius Paulus

The French obviously. Though somewhat unfairly. :book:
I see.
And yes, it was rather unfair, although their recent record was rather unsavoury. But UK would have performed just as poorly if it was not shielded by the sea from the full might of the resurgent Germans of 19th to 20th centuries. Same goes for any nation who was put into the place of France. Or at least during WWII. The French could have done better in the 1870 War though.
EDIT: Ooops, if any of you wish to continue that, it would have to be for the monastery...

Otherwise I am quite bored of all those "look my faction/culture be better than yours" posts/threads/demotivators/whatever. :coffeenews:
Can't recall off the top of my head if the Greek one was Panion or Ipsos... I just wanted a quick, good shot of an Arche Seleukia army, picked the first historical battle I could find with a bunch of pike units.

Yes, I know this is REALLY stretching it considering ancient Greeks wouldn't have even given a thought to labeling human sexuality in such a way, it's just a fun way to stomp on some toes. Picked "480bc" since it's the date of the Thermopylae battle, probably the main reason Sparta has achieved timeless legendary status, even though they were prominent as well before then. ;)

As for the Spartan demotivator, if you really wish to get technical, they were bisexuals/pederasts. Homosexual sex with grown males was taboo, from the history books I have read.

No, because the Romans did not go into the steppes only to get mauled by the nomads repeatedly. That was the Makedonians and the Greeks which were constantly bloodied by the Skythians. Romans had their Parthians, but they were no longer nomads but a settled kingdom. And Mesopotamia is not a steppe. It is inaccurate to depict Romans in such a manner. The Romans, as inferior they were intellectually to the Greeks, apparently had more sense than to invade the nomads. Says something about the people, n'est-ce pas?

Of course. Greeks and Makedonians regularly fought the Skythians, and even invaded them. Alexander sent a 45,000 man army, about the same he conquered the Persian Empire with, and it was utterly annihilated. It simply disappeared.

I don't actually recall. I actually only bother with the sassanids up to the battle of nahavand, and after shapur II took to the throne. I don;t really care about the dynasty's survivors once they got their rears royally handed to them, first by Heraclius, then the Arabs.

Alexander sent a 45,000 man army, about the same he conquered the Persian Empire with, and it was utterly annihilated. It simply disappeared.
Well that happens to all who attempt to invade the Steppes:laugh4:.
Really, just think about it - many great empires had made similar attempts:
- The persians under Darius the great - they simply couldn't force the Scythians to do battle and were grinded down slowly until they retreated.
- The greek and Makedonian campaigns - never got further then the Krim.
The romans may not have invaded the steppe but the Steppe peoples raided them several times (Goths, Huns etc.)
Strangely Alexandros had managed to defeat an army of Scythian Horsemen with his Makedonas at the river Jaxartes - unfortunatealy we don't know how he did it:wall:

OTOH the Pontics apparently handed the nomads around the Crimea a beating at the behest of the local Greek colonies. Dunno what kind of army they did it with though, but one would assume cavalry and missile troops featured heavily in it.

Oh Churchill, how you must be rolling in your grave.
Are you referring to his notoriously lengthy memoirs? Or his other works as well? I read three of the volumes (WWI) for a History Fair essay, and they are quite magnificent, although at certain points they do become quite dull.
Also, BTW, read Savrola. It is his only fiction work AFAIK, and the main character was what Churchill himself wished to become. Which is precisely what makes it so enthralling.
EDIT:
Poignant.
Heh, hence the de-motivator. All of my previous submissions were de-motivating as well, and not simply created for humour. Reflecting my own pessimistic and cynical nature.

OMG, how we are all alike :laugh4::laugh4:. I too wasted much time on this. The most interesting one was Elephants vs Roman Artillery. I compiled an army purely of every artillery piece the Romans had (two of each kind) and then gave the AI all three types of Seleucid elephants (once again, two of each kind). Then I had a couple of battles. All I can say is - Onagers with Flaming Missiles kill any elephant in one shot, and sometimes even two elephants at a time!

So funny. I always kind of wondered how that happened. Was that Athens. I hate the Athens map.
I love the Athens map!!!
I'm not sure if that is Athens; I know that Athens is like that in Vanilla.

Yep this was Athens, in EB I think they missed the Akropolis hill.:sweatdrop:

It disappears if you dont save it on your computer and just keep it on the site. The site demotivators are deleted after a while.

Agrippa?
Ah the old tourney days, I was so happy to pwn the Romani team over and over again as AS, some of them were worthy opponents and I defeated them after very intense fights, but most of them went down with ease.:skull: However ASM's Baktria was better than me and you won the tourney.
but you never defeated me...:inquisitive:

JinandJuice and Paul had better multitasking than me on average except for that one game where our armies collided, exploded, mass routed, and came running back. :laugh4:
Also, do you want that charging my laser Peltastai Makedonia?

I agree, but playing as another Diadochi faction is just not the same as playing as AS. Makedonia's phalanxes are stronger and more expensive, and Ptolemaics have weaker cavalry, and possibly weaker non-phalanx heavy infantry.

We could never really balance everything. If we did a 'War of the Diadochi' 2vs2 HUGE thing we could.
Also, FC: Do you want the shoopdawoop peltastai thing or not?
