So.... Where do I Start In ETW ?

Hi All,
Looking for some pointers on where to start in ETW MP... have recently come back to playing TW from a long break so need to get up to speed. Hi to all that know me from old (HighFistRW) also looking for where my old clan associates RW & Ugly friends ended up?

hi Fist,

You should start by joining up steamgroups as there is no foyer (there is a pinned thread here on groups).
Then finding a populated server. There are many servers and some has only a few folks on it so you won't see too many games.
Finally by realising that there are only four (well, five) cost efficient unit in the game: riflemen, guards, dragoons, sikh warriors, and mortars. The first three makes a good RPS, the fourth gives the usual inf heavy rush option (think of the byzantine rush) and finally the fifth gives something to ban.

You need to get into some Steam groups like Lional says (Hi Lional :smile: ).

i have joined the steam group you mentioned tomi

now looking for a populated server for my first online whipping no doubt :laugh4:

will now have to start learning the stats for the units again. can some one give me some info on any rules that apply to MP, like cash limits in MTW 10k-12k Games early era for instance?

The only rules that I have seen...

No Fixed Arty (no mortars, rockets, 64's)

United Kingdom server seems to be most populated at evening time (GMT+1)

It seems to be, the more Groups you belong to the more players you will meet/see online in ETW.

What is your Steam Account name? (so that others can find you)(I have found you)

hmmmm.... this steam things a bit trickey eh ....:help:
i have joined the two steam groups, thanks for the invite Jochi Khan.
i am trying to find servers to play on but can only seem to play quick battles. joined my first quick battle... and was suprised to find i won...:2thumbsup: but more to beginers luck i think.

how do i go about finding out where other servers are ?

sorry to ask such basic questions but i am totally new to steam.

is there a guide anywhere for reading to help me... i dont want to keep askin lame questions :laugh4:

how do i go about finding out where other servers are ?

Steam>Community>Settings>Downloads>Download Region.

Click the dropdown box to see where other servers are.

When you log on to ETW click on Multiplayer>Total War Online> Battle List. This will show you the games available on the server you are on.

There is also an option at the top of the list of games that you can select to play Ranked or UnRanked games just leave the one you want ticked. Untick the other one.
