Heading off to san diego today!!!!!!! I was born there and i lived there for awhile. i was wondering if anyone else lives in california and what they like to do while they are there. Personally its all about the food. Near my aunts in La Mesa there are like 3 good thai places and like 5 amazing mexican places. so anyone else care to share what to do on the west coast

I must see San Diego Zoo before I die! Commonly regarded the finest in the world.

Other than that, I'm afraid I can't think of anything I'd like to see or do there. News of San Diego's other splendid must-sees hasn't crossed the oceans yet, or - possibly, maybe - there just aren't really any.

Is it a cool place to live?

San Diego is great, if I ever move back to California, I'd move to San Diego. Great Beaches, Parks, Oldtown, the Sea Port Village, The Meditation Gardens, the trolley. Very clean (for an American City), and posh. It actually reminds me of Lisbon, with Modern Architecture.

Belly Up Tavern (http://www.bellyup.com/calendar/view/2009/6#21), and a dozen places like it in San Diego feature up-and-coming music artists, who haven't yet made it to the L.A. scene; kind of the minor leagues training ground for next year's/next decade's phenom's, exploring everything from classical to R&B and various fusion mixes - trying for the next new sound. Give a live listen, and you'll be able to say: "I knew them when..." in 2012.

Local Indian tribes have built Casino's where you can lose your inheritance, or watch a live show of yesterday's stars (kind of Vegas, without the Vegas price, and you go home at night).

Surfing, nature trails, botanical gardens, Balboa park (with summertime symphonies), boating, sailing, fishing (deep-sea & fresh-water) for the outdoors-inclined). Over 200 miles of bicycle trails.

Gaslamp district for bistro-style carousing and people watching. Sidewalk cafe's.

Up north, where I live, sits the sister-attraction to the SD Zoo, the Wild Animal Park, where the animal "guests" roam around semi-freely (rather than in cages).

Weather in the City of San Diego is gorgeous this time of year; a bit warmer as you travel northward, and downright hot in the eastern part of the county (desert).
