ok... so i've noticed that in EB MULTIPLE sallies in ONE turn are NOT possible...
I remember though that in RTW you could do multiple sallies ...
So my question is this: is there any way to restore the sallies status back to RTW???And should i expect any CTD's afterwards??? Thanks for advance for any answers :2thumbsup:

Multiple sallies is an exploit don't you... just stick your slingers to walls and u get ur enemy decimated...

or you could spend your money on slingers and walls and a few hoplites and fight INside the city. you'll be unstoppable.

phalanxes and archers what you need. and of course a field army to support the besieged city.
I mostly leave phalanxes and archers for garrison duty and I leave a reserve Horse archer army for patrolling to harass the enemy before they reach to the city if they were about to siege send them to the city then harass them in each turn.

toooooo late now :( :( :( those treacherous greedy fudges the Seleucids backstabed me :( ... i have my entire army deep into Indialand... all i have now inside Baktra is 2xfm'S,2xarcherspearmen and 2x arachosian mounted skirmishers( i trained them as elephant hunters and they got stuck inside the walls bc of the siege)... the first sally was fun i decimated his light infantry (jew boys and hillmen) with 1 casualty !!! hehehehe i don't think my army can do much against argyraspides though :( :( :(

If you really need multiple sallies, try this trick: sally, save, reload the save, activate the script, sally again and so on.
Much of an exploit but if you have a city acting as a chokepoint on a frontline you want stable for some time it's efficient.

Or you can man up and fight the battle , and eventualy lose the city. then is only a matter of reconquer it.... belive me you will feel bad, for some time, but when you conquer it again you will feel wonderfull. just a hint to you never leave bording cities with out a proper garrisson, its only what you need.
Also if you have a family member nearby that city, just go with him and by all mercs you can( if you have the monney) then its a matter to bring him near the besieged city, you can atack the enemy army or sail fourth, you will have precious reinforcements. i did this trick sometimes. when i was sieged when, and where i least expecting.

no family members around only my faction heir and THE most promising young FM ( with excellent brains/charisma/vigour and some cool traits already at age 18) inside ... i have become quite attached to those two guys actually...
i know, i know !!! i should have guarded my city better but frankly it seemed like it was pretty safe... the Seleukids are in war with Pahlavas and Sakae so i thought ok western borders secured as everybody is pretty occupied with slaughtering eachother ...
the problem is that every time the greedy economist in me prevails over the sensible commander... i could have recruited some proper infantry as garrison but i thought WTF with the extra cash saved from army upkeep i could finance mines in Kophen in 2-3 turns...

If u want to really roleplay that you want your FM's unmolested
when sieged and had no other troops except some FMs
u can FD a surrender (give that city) to the besieger... that way, your FM's life will be spared, you then could raise a decent army from another region to wrest that city back...

What you really need is some Praetorians. Typically one or two of them should be enough to hold a city, especially against the Helenes. Have one Praetorian stand infront of the gate and place the other in the center of the city. The one infront of the gate can typically kill 5000 Hellenes with his gladius before the edge begins to become too dull to even bludgeon.
Note that you need around three Praetorians when defending against Bartix units.

I've never been beaten on defence or attack with a unit of experienced Hoplitai or Spartiates Hoplitai. They shred anything dumb enough to engage you from the front in the streets.
