Probably someone else has already made this question but here it goes....

Will there be new sprites for EBII, because the ones from Medieval II suck.

Regards.

Obviously there will be new sprites, otherwise you would zoom out and see the sprites for medieval units not hellenistic ones.

What I mean, and I didn't make myself clear, is that the sprites in MTWII are awful, they look terrible. I just can't figure out which unit is which. They look so undefined, and I think that has nothing to do with the capabilities of my computer.

I'm afraid that will keep the same in EBII.

Sprites are generated by the engine, they are not made by hand. As such we cannot change their detail.

Outta curiosity, does M2TW have a similar built-in sprite generator as RTW ?

Yes. You set it up in the cfg. I think you have to manually have to cancel it or something otherwise it will continue ad infinitum.

It's funny what one finds on the internet. I think the applicable definition is...

"More often sprite now refers to a partially transparent two dimensional animation that is mapped onto a special plane in a 3D scene. Unlike a texture map, the sprite plane is always perpendicular to the axis emanating from the camera. The image can be scaled to simulate perspective, rotated two dimensionally, overlapped with other objects, and be occluded, but it can only be viewed from the same angle."

It's what the soldiers look like when you zoom out. They're reduced from 3-d to 2-d images.

Either that or a enormous lightning discharge into space, my research continues...
