edit: GRAH! Whats the deal with imageshack?

~

Hello there, this is showing the second time I've built a full desktop computer, which happens to be the one I'll using for work at the office.

The case:

Case with 650W Energy Efficient/Silent PSU:

Add the 1TB Green Western Digital HD:

Mmmmm...Tool-less drive bays:

Precious motherboard:

Installed motherboard:

Add the 9800GT:

Start plugging stuff in:

I go to turn it on...and before I do, realise that adding the 3gb of RAM might be a good idea. So in that goes. Hours of labour done, satisfying push of the button to go.

Nothing.

*&#%.

Its all brand new picked up in the morning.

Its gotta be the power.

Spend 4 hours trying to figure out what the hell is wrong.

Turns out it was a single plug in the wrong thing.
Never was I so happy to see windows installing.
Success:

Completed!

Whats in it?:
Core i7 920
Gefore 9800GT
3gb Triple Channel Corsair RAM
1tb hard drive
650w PSU
24x CD/DVD burner
Two 22" Moniters, that we found out can go up and down and rotate. AND THEY ARE HUUGE! (I must have 17" at home, and I spend my time on a 15.4" laptop, everything else at work is a 14" laptop.

Well, that's not a bad computer but may I ask what exactly you want to use it for? :inquisitive:

I'll basically be dealing out jobs to the techs, managing the inventory and co-ordinating logisitcs for the bottom half of Queensland.

Queensland is big, by the way. 1,727,200 sq km

Well, I'm just thinking the CPU and graphics card combination is a bit weird, for office tasks they're both overpowered and for gaming the graphics card is a bit underpowered by now, but then if the company paid for it(I hope they did), why not, eh? ~D

No, I couldn't because they are the purpose of the thread. :grin2:

They paid for it Husar, but the card needed to have dual DVI-D outputs, the 9800 was the cheapest that did that.

i7 was the idea of my boss, not me.

I tell you, it handles nicely. Screens are massive.
