View Full Version : Would I run into any script related problems if I loaded during AI turn?
I saved after a battle during the AI's turn and then was attacked again but couldn't fight so I had to exit the game. When I reload the gameis the script going to be running since it is in the middle of the AI's turn. Will this cause any problems? I can just reload a previous save

Missing a single turn of the script shouldn't really do anything exceedingly detrimental, but I'm not sure if it being in the middle of the AI will screw things up royally.
I've been wondering about that. I missed a turn before turning the script on in my Getai game and was afraid it'd screw something up.

Missing a turn is not a major problem. Most of the time it simply means that scripted events that can happen while the script is running don't occur. In some cases these events are merely delayed until the script is started, although some will be missed entirely.
The most important point to remember is that you must never start the script twice in the same EB session. You must exit the campaign and the game first.

why is that??? i must have done this quite some times...i mean press the show me how button and then press it again when i reload the game...
i remember i once saved up a game prior to a battle during the AI turn (the AI has sallied forth) ... whatever the outcome of the battle (autoresolve, fight on battlemap, quit the battle, victory or defeat or even draw) the game crashed each and every time upon return on the strategic map ...

I have often done it in my 1.1 game. Those damn CTDs when fighting Luso and Carthies came every 3rd battle and if you fight 5 in the AI turn you CTD, my solution was to save after each then reload after CTD.

Wait so are you saying that if for example I save the game on my turn, I attack and do something stupid that warrants a reload I have to exit the game before reloading? I've reloaded countless times without exiting the game
Same goes for me., i constantly re-load a turn if it isnt to my content same goes for battles.

I believe he is referring to loading a different campaign. You must first exit EB to load a second, different campaign. I, too, have reloaded a particular campaign within the same session of EB and I've suffered no adverse consequences.

I chose not to qualify the statement I made above simply because if you're going to reload, you might as well quit the game and restart it. That will also cut down on the number of CTDs you encounter. In my experience, the more battles you fight in a single game session, the more likely you are to have a CTD. I now quit and restart after every 3-6 battles and have had only one CTD since, even though I'm very deep into a campaign.
