Does anyone know what regional troops Saba can recruit (if any) in Saba, Qataban, Hadramaut, Zufar and Maketa?

I have downloaded two different versions of the Recruitment Viewer, and they each give different answers.

AFAIK Pantodapoi Phalangitai from regional barracks lvl 3. By the way, level 5 factional barracks are obsolete for Saba. Saves you some money...

Those pikemen will save your ass in the Saba campaign... also use Red Sea infantry (the ones with axes) as they are regionally recruitable.

I believe the Recruitment Viewer v1.1 (which comes with the EB v1.1 download) is still accurate for v1.2 of Saba.

Thanks for the info.

It seems the recruitment viewer which is currently available for download on the EB website is inaccurate. It shows East Coast Levies as the only regional units available in southern arabia (only in sufar and maketa), but thats incorrect as they can be recruited in native barracks. It doesn't show the Pantodapoi Phalangitai at all.

Is there any way I can download the correct RV (just the rv, not the entire game)?

Thanks for the tip about Pantodapoi Phalangitai. A phalanx unit will become really important when I eventually attack my ptolemaic friends in egypt (not for another 15 or 20 turns I think). Currently using spearmen units which will no doubt have some difficulty against any tough phalanx units.

the Pantodapoi Phalangitai are available at level 3 regional barracks in three of the four towns in southern Arabia (the first four you are likely to control), but not the northernmost one that controls "Mecca" as a resource. According to the RV I use that is the only unit that is available for regional recruitment by Saba in the area, however I highly recommend that you build the government and barracks to enable the phalanx, as every tool at Saba's disposal must be utilized... Also in my experience, Ethiopia and India are useful acquisitions that allow for recruitment opportunities.

Cheers mafia.

Still fairly early on in my campaign. I have just consolidated my hold on southern arabia. Currently I am eliminating a number of eleutheroi armies floating around in my provinces that I have been ignoring for a while.

Next stop ethiopia. Once I take the two provinces at the southern end of the nile, being Di'amat (Axum) and Kush (Meroe) I will build one or two large armies and move north to capture the ptolemaic cities.

Looks likely to be an interesting game as Saka Rauka and Pahlava in the north are both expanding rapidly, whilst the Seleucids are successfully moving into Ptolemaic territory. It may mean that both the ptolemaic and seleucid empires are weakened, making my game much easier than it might otherwise be.

Had an interesting experience a few turns ago when Palmyra rebelled from the Seleucids to me, generating a declaration of war. It was too far from my provinces for me to hold the city, so I negotiated a peace with the seleucids, demolished all the buildings in the city, disbanded all the troops there and increased taxation to maximum. Hehe. Quite a money winner! I tried to sell the city back to the Seleucids but they were too stingy (they wanted me to pay them to take it!) so I just let it rebel to Eleutheroi.

No: there is no up-to-date RV. The one that comes with current version of the mod is the most up-to-date (EB1.1): the install file should be somewhere in your EB folder even if you did not install it.

It is located in the "Extras" folder in your main directory :beam:.
