What to do when the comp gets "stuck

Ïn my current game as the UP,the computer appears to have gotten "stuck"on prussia turn,or I've been waiting close to half an hour before I gave up in disgust. Is there anything I can do to stop this happening,because it's seem to happen far too often,always as I'm about to win the game..

You can try to reload a save game a few years prior to the 'getting stuck' point and pray it won't happen again.

I'll try that then,even though my hopes aren't very high. But exactly WHY does it do this? It's extremely annoying to have a good game and then to have to start over,because the AI is stuck..

Just play it out. WIth 1.00 I had an AI turn where the British took approximately 105 minutes to do a whole lotta nothing.

Only happened once though.

The ones I most remember have to do with botched DoWs. It will often drop a chip in the AI turn and never move on.

That grayed out chip is the botched DoW. Usually just going back to the auto save will fix it next time through. They still usually do the DoW but it works right the next time.
