Am near the Marian reforms. My likely Reformorator just lost his Popularis trait. He is in the field and no other political view has arisen. Is he still a Popularis? What could have made him lose it? I moved him into an army where he is not the army commander.

Thanks for your help

Does he have the Novitas trait? If so then at the end of every turn there is a chance that he can get the optimate trait, which is the antitrait to the popularis trait. In other words the Novitas trait can cause him to lose the popularis trait.

One way to get the popularis trait is to have the FM become a worshiper of ceres. That can happen if the FM is the governor of a town and builds ceres temples. If he is already a worshiper of something else then you are out of luck.

I've had characters loose the "Popularis" trait for what appears to be no reason, it may be that the guy has stopped doing things making him the mobs darling or another trait could have cancelled it out.

All I can suggest is start doing the things that made him popular again win battles, build temples of Ceres etc

Thanks for your help. I think I have it saved when he still had the Popularis trait. I DO think he had the Novitas trait.

I will see what I can do. I had not heard of the building of temples to Ceres as an aid in that.

Again, THANKS!

Thanks again. I have been able to preserve the trait. My Reformator is currently in Rome celebrating his Triumph. Hopefully that will springboard him into the Consulship.
