I use The Guild skin, and today I've noticed that the quick reply/reply/pm text input boxes (where I'm typing this post now) are now brown like the rest of the skin, not white. Its really quite annoying.
I havent been able to find anything to change it back, so what have I done/what changed?
pever.
You switched the editor mode pevergreen. That's the a/A box in the top right corner.

The grey part where the text is used to be white.
Try your userCP? Change the editor mode there.
In RTW the Send PM button is missing.

I think it just hasnt been added back in, its not in the guild either.
And I can't find the option for it anywhere tosa.
Also, when I send a PM to any member the option to check if the PM was received disables itself. Its annoying.
Hello pevergreen,
It's a standard function and it's still there. I can see it, maybe it depends on the used browser now? https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/profile.php?do=editoptions Below: message editor interface in the Misc section.
The receipt Caius? Yes, that's off by default and I haven't fixed that. A while ago I worked on the navigation bar and that got screwed up due to cache. So, I still have that to do (again) too.
Edit: receipt is checked by default. Navigation bar restored. However, not all items work (no arcade, no upload, no worldtimes, no chat) since I have to fix other files for that.

Hasn't done anything at home.
Changing it still does nothing.
:/
Did you try clearing the browser cache and trying again?
The button is in the top right hand corner of the reply box and looks like this: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/images/editor/switchmode.gif.
It won't automatically change at home I don't think as it's probably stored in the cache/a cookie. Just clear the cache first and then start over.

I cleared it and still nothing. I'll try again tonight for the hell of it.

Nope, it just changes the look, doesnt make it white.
Did you clear the cache? Can you post before and after screenshots?

Is what it looks like now at work. The picture in the original post is still what it looks like at home.

Heh... I have the same problem when using Firefox 2.0 and using The Guild skin.
However in IE6.0 which is my company's standard browser (legacy web systems is responsible for this) the editor does indeed change colour (to a pale yellowish colour) with the switch editor button in the The Guild skin.
I do normally not use the The Guild skin, but the default skin (yeah I am old and set in my ways). With the default skin the editor does change colour from pale blue to white with the switch editor button in both browsers.

What confuses me is that its only happened recently, not even straight after the forums were down. Just overnight.
Ok... somehow it is now fixed.
I played around with the firefox settings without it making a difference. I had a look in the error console and clicked a few of the warning links there. Suddenly the editor background changed colour to a white/yellowish colour.
I can't recreate the event. It becomes white from brown every time I switch between the full WYSIWYG editor and standard editor as we speak.

On a somewhat related topic (I couldn't find a more appropriate topic in here, and didn't think this merited a new thread):
Many thanks to Tosa/staff for repairing the customizations of our profiles. Mine was a bit of work and I must admit I was disappointed when I saw that the crash had wiped it out.

On a related note, the RTW skin doesn't look so good anymore:
You can see here (notice the different background colours) how member information is displayed above their posts, rather than alongside them:
https://img187.imageshack.us/img187/2310/snapshot1r.th.png (https://img187.imageshack.us/i/snapshot1r.png/)
With a bit of tampering, simply removing </tr><tr> from the page source, it looks like this instead:
https://img187.imageshack.us/img187/1285/snapshot2a.th.png (https://img187.imageshack.us/i/snapshot2a.png/)
And for a full-screen picture:
https://img187.imageshack.us/img187/8707/snapshot0.th.png (https://img187.imageshack.us/i/snapshot0.png/)
It's a new choice now, check the other topic please.

I like changing my skin every so often (especially when it has decomposed too much to be practical :laugh4:) but I prefer the old down the side style so in my User CP options the new box old-style post-bit is ticked! It sometimes still appears on top though. Now the rest are down the side but this one's on the top. No biggie, just thought I'd mention it.
This hack is on evaluation. It's something that was on my wishlist since our first vbul 6 years ago. But I'm not 100% convinced now. The PM box still seems to display only the new layout and the new layout being the default isn't quite to my liking either. On top of that, ..not sure, the board seems slower after this was installed.
