Hi guys,

Wishing to start a Macedonian campaign but a few elements of unit stats have been bothering me so wanting to mod them before I start... So since I have no modding knowledge.

A few questions so please bear with me.

Question 1. I want to remove the AP ability of slingers. With the exception of Rhodian Slingers + Balearic Slingers. Since if sling pellets are going to shatter shield and destroy armour I would say it would be there lead shots that would do it. Also increase both the range and ammo of the Balearic slingers... So ho do I do that? Also I'd like to give the AP ability to the Caucasian Archers... Xenophon description of one hoplite being killed when an arrow shot from a Caucasian bow pierced both his shield and breast plate is justification enough for the addition of the ability.

On a second note what sort of effect would this change in abilities have on general game play? Since I have used slingers many time for there AP ability... how is it likely to effect AI use/ expansion... if at all?

Question 2. What is the phalanx mini-mod and would anyone recommend it? A link to the mod would be much appreciated :-)

Thanks in advance

If I'm not mistaken, wouldn't AP ability on Caucasian Archers' arrows cause enemy regiments to break formation? It'd be too devastating, no?

It was actually thrown in the air in teh internals, way back. The consensus -reached in something of a record time IIRC- was "crazy broken" and the idea was ditched. The Caucasians *do* still get the assorted modifiers for unusually heavy arrows though, namely higher attack value plus less range.
