Will 1.03 work in singleplayer campaign?
iirc, yes.
Hi there btw! :beam:
I've never actually tried any unofficial patch for STW. What exactly does it fix/add to the game?
Note: I've split this off from the original thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=63548). Please try not to ressurect old threads, especially those that are three years old.

The unofficial stat packs change the parameters of the units: attack, defense, armor, speed etc.. They don't affect anything else, and take effect in Single Player and MP. Their intent is to provide an alternative balance (usually better than 1.02, which has well-known issues that have been hashed to death here).
1.03 is a nice stat. Kas and the Masterless hosted a 2v2 tournament based around it back in the last days of the STW server, and it was successful (Sasaki and Wolf Kansuke won). I don't remember all the details of the stat, but I do remember that it tones down guns, and iirc, makes Mongol units more viable. 1.05 is even better for Mongols. Friends and I would always switch to it when we wanted to have some mongol battles.

I've only just started a campaign, but when I'm done I will be sure to give those stats a try.
I do use some modified stats at present (sourced from Puzz3D) so I'd be interested to see the differences.
Many thanks Masamune,

 Sure man, it is my pleasure. There are "statswapper" utility scripts around that allow you to switch between different STW stats quickly and easily. Essentially they're DOS .bat files that copy a stat set from holding folders into the active game folder. Back in the day, I modified an existing one that was a bit klunky and wrapped it in an installer for easy use, but unfortunately the only copy I retained was on a computer that is long dead. I don't have a copy of that swapper anymore. That and other swappers may still be hanging around somewhere though. They make playing with various stats much faster and easier.

I have quite a few d/l mods for STW. I don't remember where I got them from (I'll go through the material for any 'read-me's to find any web-sites) but they are all free-ware so if I can't find the site where I got them from I'd be happy to pass them along.....................

103 does work in SP.
One point regarding 103 Mongols, very little work was done on them, they were not balanced but left very weak.
Todas Warriors created 105 Mongols which addressed some problems with them. He also made further modifications that I believe were 106 and 107 but these included unit size adjustments similar to MTW. I later created a 108 version which balanced the Mongols against 103 Japanese stats but by then Barocca had released Shogun mod for MTW/VI.
If it's a Japanese campaign you are looking for, 103 is a great choice.
Thanks. I was mainly interested in 1.03 gamespeed fixes and playing the Japanese campaign yeah.
