Greetings rulers of all great nations (though not as great as certain other nations)
I recently conquered Alexandria and now I want to change the government type, but because Alexandria is packed with all kinds of nice buildings the different rulers left there, all slots are full and I can't even see my government building, let alone demolish it.
Is there any other way to destroy buildings? (console perhaps?)
Otherwise, 'ol Megas' tomb will have to go!
Come to speak of it, if you keep buidling beyond the building limitation, will you still get the order or happiness bonus?
NUUUUUUUUUUUUU
YOU MUST NOT DESECRATE THE GREAT ONES TOMB!
if you can afford to lose some public order i reccomend destroying those.

You seem to be able to construct these buildings and gain the benefits of them, but you won't be able to see them in the building viewer at the bottom of your screen. That's what they told me. :)

Just move him to a more worthy location; Seleukeia, Antiocheia or Pella.

When your building list is full, you can keep building buildings, you just can't see them. If you need to get access to those buildings, like if you want to destroy them, you'll have to destroy some buildings that you can see so that you can get the one you want to move up the list. Try destroying things like blacksmiths or gamefields that have little effect and are easy to replace.
There is no cheat to destroy buildings. If there were, that code would be used to do away with enemy government buildings in the script rather than just damage them as they are now.
Just destroy some buildings then add_money and process_cq to get them back. In a way it is kind of cheap but then again I don't think vanilla RTW could have more than 20 usable buildings so it is just to get around a dumb little limit in the game

Thanks for all your answers, I just demolished the Ptoli execution space, completely useless for the ingenous Romans, they just need a road and some wood! :smash:

If your playing as the Romans there is a slight problem, for the "Imperial Reforms" to kick in you need 45 type II govts in your 90 settlements. I believe there is a minor bug if the govt building is not visible in the building slots then the script doesn't count it and you could miss out if you get the Augustus character, I've had it happen to me!

That bug really is of minor issue anyway, as its fairly easy to edit the script, there is a modified script on a thread around here, dont know the link but search for roman reforms and it'll come up. I had 122 settlements and controlled the world, I think I deserved the reforms, year=122

Really? I'm in 117BC and I've had a character with 'high ambitions', but passed it because I was just getting started with the Marians, and the guy getting it was a Lieutenant from the punic wars, turned corrupt, decadent politician, and a Ivnii too! Kind of the wrong material for a royal dynasty...
But I'm not sure if I have 45 type II's, could this be a bug too?

Imperial reforms can be tricky to trigger but you can have several characters with high ambitions it will only trigger when you make him faction heir and he eventually becomes faction leader.
Easiest way to check settlement types is cycle through your settlements and count them, also I think type I govt count as well but not 100% on this.
