View Full Version : Putting an Admiral on a different ship

I haven't been able to order my admirals to move off of one ship, and onto another -- is that not possible in the game, or am I missing something really obvious? I'd like very much to transfer early game, fifth and six-rate admirals to bigger ships, though right now, they're assuring me they're as much a part of their first ship as the planks ...
Thanks!

Sadly, it isn't possible to do so. You actually have to destroy the admirals current ship to move them.

Too bad you can't just drag and drop him into another ship in the UI.

Yeah, drag and drop was what I was trying ... silly me. At least, apparently, we can destroy the ship -- and the admiral really remains? Is he put automatically onto the most advanced ship remaining in the fleet? Adventures in intuition! I guess it's not terrible if I can just sink a sixth-rate to put the admiral on a third-rate: I still can't believe that that really works, lol. That must mean someone at CA *actively designed* it that way, actually sat down and programmed this as the best possible solution, which is really funny. I'd love to see the decision making flow-chart behind this.
The admiral does move from ship to ship if his ship is just scuppered, when I destroyed Ottoman starting fleet you can only imagine how confused I was when I sank the ship, 1 ship disappeared but the admirals face stayed...

I actually thought I could do this in version 1.0 when i first got and tried playing the game, I seem to remember being able to do something like that, but in 1.2 and 1.3 I couldn't, now I'm not entirely sure if I was ever actually able to, things are a bit blurry for me

Make sure he's the only admiral in that fleet or you really do scupper him with the ship. It happened to me.
