I usually don't use social groups so this thing could be old already..

Anyway, I noticed that social groups have turned into mini-forums. You have the ability to propose new discussions and so on. When were they changed?

Btw, I like these new social groups!

Hello Ibn-Khaldun,

That changed somewhere last month.

Will we be able to move our Social groups from one category to another once there is more than one of them?
As I understand there will be more of them?

No idea really Ibn-Khaldun. I never tried. Category. I guess it's possible, perhaps a group can even be listed in more than one category.

Speaking of Social Groups, numerous people are enraged by the 1,000 word limit. I loathe it with passion too, as my posts have the propensity to be longer than shorter. Is there any way you could fix this? This limit is also imposed on VMs, but that is not as bad, because most VMs do not get mcuh larger than that.

Seconded, especially on the groups that discussing tactics and strategy.... we need to put more alphabet to suit all the blah - blah - blah, so we can post that in one post, not multiple post for just one kind of tactics...

Hello,

I'll look whether there's a setting for this.

Edit: found. I'm also cautious with these settings, so I only doubled it and we'll see how it works.

But what is the purpose of the limit?

A question. I have some social group requests but can't find a way to accept them I looked all through the ways I remember that worked but nothing :dizzy2: Although I hope its something obvious so its not going to close the org down so you can change it. Anyway thanks for the help it'll be appreciated

Hello Emperor of Graal,

I don't know really, I guess it's in your UserCP in Networking somewhere. Or you have to go to the social groups mainpage, perhaps there's a link at the bottom: accept membership/join or something?

Some groups have pictures, for some reason I can't find this magically option to give a picture to it. Some one said "When you make a group, its just there so you can" but when I look, nothing to do the group picture there.

is there some special requirement to be able to set the picture?

The option is really round-about, i stumbled upon it when fiddling with a few test albums. Go to your profile and create an album, then upload pictures to the album. From there you should see an option to post pictures to groups, i nearly did it by accident when trying to get my albums organized :sweatdrop:

In the edit group function in the menu link at the very bottom of the user group you should have the picture option that will set a picture for the user group itself.

Was the first place I checked, just been bothering me for a while and a couple have said what you have said, but there is nothing there at all, for me.

When I edit the group Order of the Fleur de Lys, below the above panel you have a screenshot of, there is a similar panel entitled "edit group icon". Did you create the group you are trying to edit? If not, maybe the function is restricted to only the group's founder.

I created the group/It's founder.

Though, I just realised something else, you are a senior member and Sigurd is a moderator. Maybe normal members don't have permission to set pictures?

That must be it. When I added Arche Seleukeia shield as icon to WotB social group I was Assistant Moderator(because of WotB) for a short time.

Now I can't find the button to edit that icon even though I am the founder.

Ohhhh...well. That explains my problems with it.

Ok, now I know where it should be. :beam:

I request that members are now able to do it.

Hello,

It's not set on purpose to be that way, I see no reason to restrict it. I'll check the permissions now. Brb.

Edit: should be set, and some other option should be there now.

Big thanks, TosaInu, you are a star as always! :2thumbsup:

(Also you are nice to me, sometimes I look back at my posts and think "Did I really write it like that?" )

Hello Beskar,

People get angry at you for asking?
