View Full Version : Where is EB made?

Summer is usually the slowest time for EB (as far as I have seen), but those who are currently active recently posted their locations and I thought I might share the results with you lot here today.
https://img24.imageshack.us/img24/7200/ebmembermap2009.jpg
You can probably see some patterns :beam:. We won't say who is located at which spot, or exactly where those spots are, but this shows somewhat generally what the pattern of team members looks like. In the past we've had a few Aussies and New Zealanders, Canadians, some members in Asia (if I recall correctly, we've had them in Armenia, India, Japan, Iran, and Iraq), and I think one in Africa, but none in those places have responded this summer.

Ooh, someone lives near me!
My goodness is that bovi practically living at the north pole?
No kidding. I thought I lived pretty far north (western Canada), but that's insane!
Probably foot if your from Plymouth, being form Glasgow i'm more intersted to see who my fellow scot/scottish resident is.
Its quite easy to guess a lot of them, odyssous in ireland, sarcasm in portugal, moros in belgium, also think thats Krusader way up in the artic.
Its also interesting to note the cluster following the rhine valley.

Where are you from? I reckon ur an American...
lot of people round the rhineland area and the netherlands-don't you find that interesting?
and what, no Arabs from Arabia? :clown:
And there's no one near me even within 5000 kms......
It seems most of the people working on the mod actually live in the area where it is situated....

No one from Oz? Its such a good mod, I'd be proud to have my compatriots represented.
I guess CA is/was based here, so yay for us.
Also why am I visualising all the ones in Europe according to typical units of their EB AOR? The guy in Portugal, I bet he's wearing a blue tunic and hangin' with 239 friends with a bunch of javelins each (not to mention their very good stamina), whereas that guy in Poland only has 159 friends but by golly thats a big sword he has...

Founding EB member Psycho V was from there. He is no longer with the team, though. CA has two teams: England and Australia. R:TW was developed in England, IIRC the latter is responsible for M2:TW.
I see there is a fellow Greek. Who might it be?
Keravnos? I thought he lived near Albania because of his interest in Epirote archeologic sites, but maybe that is because it is his area of study.

Anyway true with the latter statement.

There were more guys than khelvan and aymar at the start too though. I can't remember if Psycho was there at the very beginning (I was not, but I've looked at all the old post often), but I know Steppe Merc was too. He may be the only founding member that is still on the team. Stormy is probably the second longest serving member, joining up in Oct. 04.
We had three Aussies on the team at one point, but none now. We have more guys who are definitely still with us, but they just haven't replied in the thread. I know we have some more Europeans and at least one Armenian and another Romanian and some more Americans.
Lol - that is incredible TA, the RTR team demographic looks remarkably similar, except that we currently have a member living in Oz. :beam:
What do you mean by founding? Kelvin and Aymar were the founders...
If Psycho wasn't there at the beginning, he joined soon after.

07-24-2009, 17:43
This thread is arguably the genesis of the Europa Barbarorum Project, if not perhaps the mod itself. So yes, both Psycho and Aymar were there at the beginning, khelvan came along a little later, around about the time RTW was released IIRC (he worked on the original RTR).

1 Star doesn't necessarily correspond to 1 member, though. And chucking eggs at people's house is probably not the way to get EB 2 out any faster.
It's nice to see the EB team has been dishonest to us all this time. They fly the flag saying they don't mean to be ethnocentric or focus on one faction more than another, but what do we see here? Just only the majority of the team recreating the Limes Germanicus! :laugh4:

If I remember correctly, Thule is near Greenland (or even a part of it), so it's not Antartica, but Artica (North Pole). And furthermore, I don't think that he lives there...
It was a mythical name used in the past to describe various islands in the north atlantic throught history, part of greenland is named after it aswell. Certainly nowhere near the antartic.

Can always be one in Porto too. Just make use of your resources and put down Sino-Portuguese contacts for a while.
It's also my favourite period, but you can always lend a hand in this one too.
So many people from different parts. I am suprised that everyone has such good english. I feel kinda bad now that I can't speak any other language like german or portuguese or even american with your damn weird spellings and pronunciations.
As a side note, is there a list or anything of who the EB members actually are? Everyone seems to know but I can't follow or find a list anywhere.

It's probably easier for us to learn English because so many films, music and books are in English. I mean: you probably have not seen, or read 'Oorlogswinter' but I have seen and read 'Animal Farm' (weak comparison I know, but you get the point). We grow up in a world were English plays a big part.

Great idea!
:pops a bottle:
Dude, you're seriously risking of having me pop there sooner or later, I'm a beer lover and still got a few hundred artisanal beers left to try there lol
Well you can always come over. And if you do bring Alin along, I still own him some duvels. Normally I could get you a place to sleep without a problem (not far from the Stella Brewery). I know some bars where you can try out some beers for very decent prices.
I'd probably head for delirium cafe and bier circus, after that I'm open to everything... Supermarket prices are pretty expensive over there though.
I always buy it at a distributor. Cuts the price by a bit. And at leuven, there are bars run by and for students. As those aren't makling any real profit, they barely have to pay taxes. Which means cheap beer there as well. Though of course the quality varies greatly from bar to bar. But there are some that are of decent and even good quality. I work at one of them, so I can even guarantee utmost quality there.
Anyway it appears we're going a bit off-topic... So I guess we should leave it at this or continue by pm. Unless we're going for a second beer thread in the EB fora lol.
I agree, an EB team meeting somewhere in europe would be a blast though... If any of you guys come around Milano just PM me and I can always spare a couch for you.
