Curious, #2 is rather pointed, is it your view that an "Add-On" for STW would result in no Add-On for MTW; or that anyone suggests that a Add-On for for MTW should not be?

In any event, its good to see you take your own initiative to meet your satisfaction.

Why is there no "Yes", I don't care about MTW" vote? Are you trying to manipulate things? http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/dizzy.gif

As I don't even have STW I'd rather have an add-on for MTW...

But of course I could also have opted for #2...

I would have voted a major add on pack for shogun and at the expense of an add on pack for MTW. I just find the medieval theme boring and the online aspects totally spac .... but thats just my opinion[B] http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wave.gif

A total overhal of Shogun is my vote. But since this is not a vote option....I have not voted.

Lets go Shogun I want a Shogun Add-On bringing all the medieval features over to Shoggy, maybe make it one of those ones where you don't need any previous Shoggy games to work it, like the new Cossacks add-on.

STW.

But to be realistic, it wouldn't be good if CA did that. How many copies would they sell? 10? That's a sure ticket to bankruptcy. Let's hope that the x-pack would make modding even easier and improves the code a bit more for low-end machines (the ones that could run STW). Not sure whether it would help in terms of speed, but two seperate exes, one for MP and one for SP (like other modern games do: RTCW, SOF) would allow to optimise either without compromizing the other.

Let's hope that we can add the STW unit bifs (add custom folders), or that they are already included by default. And that just swapping stats would allow to load the one or the other.

For those that didn't notice, there are 3 era's in MTW. Removing one of the three startpos files leaves only 2. The opposite could be true as well. Add more 'startpos' files and get more available periods. This would allow the users to add new era's and new universes. Fantasy, Indian, ancient, Japan, Napoleonistic. The game would be self suporting to an extent.

But CA could earn money with it too. More options, more gamers, more copies sold. CA could also improve the engine and create a new (example)game around that. Recall mobile siege engines? CA could make WW1.totalwar where it's possible to add tanks with tankcrew. Fans could use that new engine functionality to make mobile canons. The same thing happens again: you may not be happy with WW1.totalwar, but you'll need a copy to play the new Napoleonistic mod.

You could think of one foyer where 'Romans', 'Japs', 'privates' and 'vikings' meet each other, but each does his own thing. When you meet a friend and want to play with him you could if you have the same mod installed along with your usual stuff. No statswapping, that's automatically done by the game. So a 'viking' can find himself to be a roman centurion, if he wants so.

This is only one example of what could be done.

Good point remember company's generally do things for the money not the community *gamespy cough cough*

Remember that companies need money to do things.

I'ld think that there are better ways to make money than producing a game that appeases only a small % of gamers.
