Driving up to the Thunderhawk evacuation ship, Commissar Beefy popped out of his Leman Russ Tank and gave a shout to the Force Commander as he and his squad was getting off the tanks.
“Sir! Take the Relic and go! We shall hold off the daemons to give you time for extraction. Make no hesitation on calling the strike when you are back on the battle barge. Only the faithful shall win the day and we are honoured to have served the Emperor. Now Go! For the Emperor!”
Looking back at Commissar Beefy, Force Commander pever gave a salute while his men were unloading the relic and carrying it onto the Thunderhawk. He had worked with Imperial Guardsmen before, but this situation was different from the rest in that the teamwork between them was equal – usually only the space marines do most of the work. There was a general reliance on each other and these Guardsmen have shown their bravery to match those of his squad. Without the Commissar and his men, this mission could have turned out quite differently. The Force Commander gave a short but meaningful reply.
“It is my honour to have served for the Emperor beside you.”
Turning back to his squad, the Force Commander boarded the Thunderhawk, and it soared into the sky with orange heat waves from its boosters that scorched the ground. Without further time wasting, the Commissar ordered his tanks to sergeant Reenk’s position.
Welcome to Tainted Heresy, the follow up game to taka's great game, Tainted Evil.
This is another game in the same spirit, with a new storyline, new players and a new mechanics system.
Think of it like the Battle Royale games, if you didn't play the last one. You have what you have, you move around a grid based map, fighting other players and sending detailed orders in. If you can think of it and the people you represent can do it, it will be done. You will each have a number of specialsed objectives and a number of units to choose from.
The story will be done after sign-ups, as the story is going to depend on how many players.
The game should take up about 10 minutes of your time every few days. Less than a normal mafia game.
Expect the fighting to be bloodier, the killing funnier, the dead bodies larger (in amount) and there to be a free fresh light salad afterwards.
We await your...signature...

It pays to send in your orders when the host asks, because your actions go in order on how you sent them...like...."I want to attack Beefy near pont N-3" but lets say your a minute later then Beefy and he already sent in his too.."Avoid combat while retreating to N-2" then he would getaway and even kill some of your unit...:sweatdrop:

Because of time zones, orders will happen at the same time, if you say go to A1, and a person in A1 goes to A2, you will see them or something like that, depending on location and speed etc.

The exterminatus had been called, the world was a lifeless husk. But so was the will of the emporer. Brother-Captain pevergreen of the Second Company of the Black Gryphons, a chapter of the Imperiums Space Marines, genetically enhanced super humans, stood upon the Battle-barge The fall of grace waiting on the astropath's instructions. The warp was a deadly place, but the only way to travel at great speed. They must go to the place they had never been before, Terra. The place so long forbidden to the Black Gryphons, the beacon of humanity, the only safe place for this relic. They must be rid of it, for they had their own troubles.
Troubles, which, as it seems, where about to be doubled.
"A distress call Brother-Captain!"
"What? Here? Impossible...the surrounding areas are uninhabited, only mining colonies."
"Its from the Dark Angels."
"Then we must go. Another company of space marines stands at the brink of destruction if they must call for aid, especially since this is the Dark Angels."
"Get the men ready. Get me a scan of the planet. I want to know who is on it. We have never passed through this sector before."
The scan of the planet showed the location of the distress call. It was coming for the outskirts of the mining colony. The area around included forests, a beach and another small city.
"What is this other city? Get me a reading on any life forms."
"Brother-Captain, it is the Tau. They must be trying to colonise this planet for their so called 'Greater good'. What are your orders?"
"Wipe out any threat to the Dark Angels, return here alive. For the Emperor!"
I shall randomise and send roles out soon.
Current progress:
4 role PM's are out.
Format is the same, you get a choice of a few squads, but this time, more customisation.

08-02-2009, 03:52
Also, if anyone can like...make a map, that would be really helpful :laugh4: PM me if you can help out.

And a map. :sweatdrop:
How should we respond if we don't have a map? :sweatdrop:
pevergreen
08-02-2009, 07:08
Responses for choices.
And I need a map and I can't do aaanything. Im terrible with graphics.
Hrmm.... perhaps if anyone had the game Spore, they could find a suitable planet in the space stage, zoom in just enough to get an overhead view of a region, and then take a screenshot? Then it could be grid-ified...
I would do it myself, but I don't have access to my Spore game right now. The idea just popped into my head... we could just try google maps, and search for some place in Australia or New Zealand, too.
pevergreen
08-02-2009, 08:20
Hmm, maybe.
I'll try googe mapping it.
Edit: If someone could grid this map:
https://img44.imageshack.us/img44/5171/maprra.jpg
I think about 20x20 squares should fit ok. or 15x15. Whoever does it can choose. :laugh4:
I'd do it myself, but hard to get even distances with paint...

The day dawns.
The Imperial Guard regiment and the Dark Angels stand firm. They had repelled the Tau attacks, the distress call was out, all they could hope was that someone would respond before they lost the West side of the Island as well.
The Tau had retreated back to the planetary camp on the Eastern side of the island. As the Etheral looked up, he saw a number of drop pods land to the North and South.
It was dawn, yet for a brief moment, the sky was black...
Here´s my attempt at a grid:
https://img193.imageshack.us/img193/1215/gridmap.jpg (https://img193.imageshack.us/i/gridmap.jpg/)

I'll start after getting the infomation off them.
Starting locations are confirmed, you'll get movement details when you get told where you are.
The starting time is still the day with the crappy story piece above.
General infomation:
There will be no restricted zones.
A unit is either dead or alive, at this stage, no units have more than one wound.
Many units have special rules which I have not mentioned.
The combat system is mine and mine alone :laugh4:
Detailed writeups will help, but cunning battle plans that are pages long will not. If a guy needs to stand still to fire his massive rocket launcher, he will, that may mean that he is killed.
By default I will take your orders to the letter (Unless you make your intentions clear enough if they are vague, ie. Kill anything thats human, but if it looks strong run) will do better than a map system etc. (Mainly aimed at Battle Royale players, I hated getting disadvantaged because I didnt do page long instructions)
If you wish, let me know and I'll help out where your instructions aren't clear, but I would do what your unit would do in the situation, which may be charge right into that big machine of death...
Not everyone can ally with everyone, but sometimes interests do align. Watch your back.
Anyone willing to send the map to my email or attaching the image to a post/PM?
Pretty please? :sweatdrop:

Starting locations are out.
Everyone can move ONE square, in any direction (including diagonal).
In terms of timing, orders will happen at the same time, but, for example:
Person A is in a forest, walking to square outside forest, person B is outside, walking in. Person B would get to the forest edge quicker. Same for going up or down a hill. Not everyone moves the same speed though, just the same distance at this point.
Turn 1 has begun. The battle for the planet has begun.
Good luck to everyone, orders are due in approximately 30 hours.
"Kill the alien, burn the heretic, purge the mutant!"

pevergreen
08-03-2009, 13:23
To those not familar with the 40k universe, some quotes:
"While vile mutants still draw breath, there can be no peace. While obscene heretics hearts still beat, there can be no respite. While faithless traitors still live, there can be no forgiveness."
Silver Skulls space marine Chapter.
"Give me a hundred space marines. Or failing that, give me a thousand other troops." Rogal Dorn, primarch of the Imperial Fists.
A chant of the space marines:
"With the bolter, cleanse the unclean.
With the flamer, purify the unholy.
With the chainsword, purge the corrupt.
With the missile, kill the impure."
"The Space Marines fear no Evil for we are Fear Incarnate!"
The enemies of the Emperor fear many things. They fear discovery, defeat, despair and death. Yet there is one thing they fear above all others. They fear the wrath of the Space Marines!
pevergreen
08-04-2009, 05:09
lets say around 4 hours to go for orders. I've got 9 orders so far.
Umm, shooty shooty? Maybe we should play the claim game or setup a battlearena in the center of the island, since currently I don´t have much to do...

Don't worry, just like taka's game, losing your current squad means getting something more powerful...Don't be too eager though, its like having lives, if you waste the early ones getting to the powerful ones...well...
Movement will increase later as well.
PM's are out, if you sent one, you get one back. And then one other person got one as well.
Turn 2 Orders due in 23.5 hours.
General Infomation:
Drop pods were reported to the north and south areas. The centre of the map has had some weird things falling from the sky. No one could identify them.

Any Dawn of War games are not true to the universe. Blood Angels have the gene seed of the Thousand Sons, a Chaos Chapter...yet they are let to live.
If you're going to roleplay Eldar, do it correctly. The Mon-keigh are inferior. You would rather sacrifice ten thousand imperial lives to save 10 eldar lives. They do not understand the threat of necrons etc etc they are useless.
Basically you are all powerful. Or so you think.

Warhammer 40k tabletop is :daisy:ing expensive,
but it's worth it for the level of customization you can do. You can even paint your own little pieces! :D
I've always wanted to get into WH and D&D but I have NO friends around here that play it, and DnD canceled their online service they were going to hold, because they are stupid!

:laugh4::laugh4: Ugghhhhh I would never be able to do that, I am a horrible painter..... I play DnD with friends, and that is good enough for me., Although the direction DnD is going I don't plan on following (mostly because the Books are so darn expensive)
if you're looking for books, read Eisenhorn, its frickin amazing. I started with the DoW games series and then got into the books, eisenhorn will deffinately get you wanting to read more. then see if u can grab Ravenor aswell which is kinda like a sequel but not to eisenhorn. heard that its just as good as Eisenhorn. Should be picking mine up this week or something.
So, since everyone is talking about necrons, i assume that the black things in the middle are them then

Tabletop is expensive...if you don't go to the right places.
Land Raider here: $96
Contact I have: $40
Space Marine Commander here: $31
From him: $15
Let me know if you want some stuff, he'll ship direct to you etc.
D&D is fun, but sometimes the players let you down. However, theres always DDO. Free to play soon. Fun game.
Let me know if you play Dawn of War 2.

Is it the Monolith?? I may need to scout it out first...then..:rifle:
Edit:I am not doing it for the Xenos either...but for the Emperor:yes:
Unlike the others, I am nerdy enough to read the books... FEAR MY KNOWLEDGE! FEAR IT!!!
As for the Necron situation, I am willing to ally with others, whether human or xenos, to destroy the Necron threat... I trust everyone knows the best way to deal with the threat?

*sigh*
:clown:
Now, if I were an Imperial Guard regiment, some Basilisk would be in order. If I had an orbital defense platform, however, I'd just turn it on the planet and burn the whole island till it sank beneath the waves, beneath the crust, into the mantle, through the outer core, into the inner core, and then the reverse process out the other side - That's when I would say "Okay, I am now positive, about 95% sure, the Necron's are gone, but if anyone wants, we can do it again to be 99% sure."
White_eyes:D

going from the Blood Raven's novel, the necrons are weak to the warp powers, so any eldars out there should be attacking the necron (especially if anyone has warlocks and has a farseer. Grey knights Space Marines and other psykers should do well also). the other thing necrons are weak against is orbital bombardment. but obviously we'd all die if that happened :laugh4:
