How active is Shogun Online?

Hey I've been starting to feel MTW is a bit lame for a couple reasons:

Slow armor clonking units

me not being able to host and thus getting little 1v1 experience

no fog except for winter

I really wish I could have played Shogun during its booming period. I especially like the idea of a well-balanced army adaptable to all situations.

So I was wondering what the current state of STW online was. The experience I'm looking for is a lot of battles not just one or two but I don't think I can get it and so I'm looking for consolation.

Old Stw and Mi are played by few unfortunately, maybe peaking some 15-20 on good nights - from my experience at least.

I agree on the 'heavy armoured clonking units', it's a bit boring, Shogun was way faster...and had deeper tactics since it had few units.

I'll be happy to play some STW or MI games with you, Sko.

It really depends on wether you like to beat your opponent with superior troops and weapons or wether you would rather defeat them with an ingenious tactic that hasnt seen the light of day since the wars of old..... Im ranting alittle. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smokin.gif

Since the original shogun server was fixed, like... 2/3 weeks ago now, more and more people have been logging on to play. Obviously if it was down for along time then people would have stopped trying to log on, and so it just died. But, its making a slow recovery http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif.

Best time to log on is around 8GMT. But sundays are quite busy all day.

I only just came back to shogun, i dont think i played with the 1.12 patch online when it was released. But the game feels great now, they fixed alot of the problems with lag it seems.

I would glady play from time to time again to, I miss STW a bit aswell.
