View Full Version : Can you have more than 16 (of your) units in a battle at any one time?
In the shogun manual it says that there is a performance option to change the "max men on bttlefield"
But it isn't there, any way to change the max number of units on a battlefield? (other than changing the number of soldiers in each unit)

No, not unless you count those extra units as reinforcements, which only appear as slots in the orignal 16 become vacated, either by withdrawl (best case scenario) or your units routing or just being totally destroyed (more likely and less pleasant). Otherwise all you can do is increase the size of units, which given the size of the maps remains the same significantly effects play in the sense that it's much harder to flank. with units of 120 instead of 60

Also if you're in the US get hold of the European manual from HERE (http://www.totalwar.org/maps/misc.shtml/). It's STWManual.zip
