Just had a phone call from my eldest that her husband just received a promotion to detective in the Richmond PD. Considering he's been on the job less than 5 years this is a nice accomplishment.:2thumbsup:
For the last six months there was some sort of hex on me, couldn't land a job interview to save my life. August seems to be my time as I've gotten a number of them almost out of nowhere. With any luck i'll be employed again and actually getting some cash flow.
Watching Monk...
WHAT!? :help:
I am happy that my studies are still at least a day off. Enjoying my last hours of freedom for now. :2thumbsup:
Tomorrow I'm taking the whole day with the little lemurs. Nothing makes me happier.

i finished my summer courses, and i had a piece of cake.
I got a new album, well a 33 year old album actually. AC/DC's Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap album, and I've found a new contender for my favourite song ever There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0ZpWNZFDLE)

Happy about this weekend.
Yesterday (Saturday), wee wifey gave me an afternoon pass to get away to the coast for a dive (free diving). The weather has been unseasonably pleasant, mild and stable for a week so we didn't get to experience gale force wind driving sheets of cold spray into my face. Apparently the water temp is 6C at the moment. Nice!
Vis was only about 1 meter, which isn't good, but it beats trying to find paua (Abalone) by Braille. We came away with a limit catch (10 per person), which only took a couple of hours to achieve. Shucked, gutted and frozen the little suckers will be, mostly, given away to older friends and family that cannot get them.
I've spent today doing garden stuff, prep work for Spring, making offcuts of deer fence netting into bean/pea supports. Joining frost cloth together and making easier to pull out and retract depending on the weather. Moving compost from our chook pen out to the vege garden.
A good weekend, all in all.

Have you got the international version or the damn near impossible to find real version? Plus they aren't exactly cheap. The only one I'm now missing is high voltage.

Absolutely nothing at the moment. I'm trying to organise a job before the end of summer (to start in September) but haven't had much luck. I also have this feeling there is something REALLY important that I should be doing instead of wasting my holidays, I just can't put my finger on what it is.
I guess I'm sort of happy I'm in good health, oh and I'm going on holiday to Oz soon, I haven't been to Cairns since I was about 5, I'm quite excited about that actually..

Aw, now my happiness has just thrown itself out the second story window. I'm currently freezing my jublies off at 4°C(39°F), it's also 90% humidity, not that it really matters in the cold. Your 32°C(90°F) sounds beautiful.

You have received an infraction at The Guild.

Finally settled my long standing grudge match with Call of Duty: World at War by selling it. I got 30 dollars from that piece of trash and I couldn't be happier. Also sold Halo 3 and Guitar Hero: Metallica, which are not terrible games but ones I just never play.

Hah, beat this Orgahs: I just rode a wild dolphin!!
I was on the Pensacola Beach, and I live in Pensacola, FL myself, swimming in the Mexican Gulf. Then a large herd began surfacing not very far from the shore. The water was about four metres deep, but reasonably quite far from the shore, as Pensacola beach has a quite gentle slope.
Excited, I swam near them, as far as the lifeguards will permit, and began observing them. They were reddish- light brown in colouration. Their heads carried bottlenoses characteristic in many varieties of dolphins. Then one surfaced very close to me, and blew fine mist in my face through his/her blowhole. He or she then U-turned away from the direction and position of the herd, and believe it or not - swam directly towards me. I touched it, and it did not respond negatively. So I actually dared to lay myself on its back, and again, it did not show signs of agitation. It swam for not more than a half of a minute (although in the excitement, it was impossible to tell time) and then it dove slowly down, leaving me on the surface. It barely noticed me.
I did not try to do anything else underwater, such as attempt to play with it, or make odd sounds (which dolphins love) as I know that dolphins play rough by our standards and will often pull your leg and hold you underwater for a bit, as part of their playing routine. And also other things, all of which are dangerous to a human like me, in water deep enough to drown in if forcefully held for some time. Similarly, I did not do anything that I read was threatening or upsetting for dolphins, such as chasing it, or flailing my arms, which they especially dislike. So I left as quickly as possible, as animals are unpredictable after all. In any case, the experience was exhilarating.
Gotta say one thing though - dolphins do not smell pleasant at all!:laugh4: More likely not-too fresh fish that is close to going rotten, but not quite there yet.
Also, I am aware that while some people encourage sensible interaction with dolphins, other are opposed to it. I merely watched the closest dolphins, from what seemed to be about 10-15 metres, but one actually surfaced closer, and went out of the way to approach me, and I could not resist the temptation. The dolphins continued appearing for an hour more, and at the widest area imaginable (about half of a square kilometre), indicating they were a very large group.

That sounds Amazing.
Speaking of Wild Animals, I awoke this morning to a full herd (must've been thirty head or so) of Bull Elk in my front yard. Wonderful creatures, it makes me a little sick that people hunt them.
