When do romans get artillery ect

Im at 187 bc and i still havnt had the choice to build catapults ect for romans when will they get this? and how come this technology is avaliable to other factions at the start but not the romans?

They get it after the Marian reforms.

IIRC Romans can get artillery through regional MICs in major Hellenic cities (Syracuse, Athens, Pella).

Rome at this point still used levy armies, while artillery requires a professional engineers' corps.

I think you could get it in Syracusae, since it was historically used there.

I edited the script to my liking to make the reforms come quicker. Although the campaign became boring and there were about 5 battles every single turn so i kinda put it on hold
