To say that I'm greatly disturbed by this news would probably qualify as my personal Understatement of the Year thus far. It has "epic fail" written all over it. :no: :thumbsdown:

Shut up, Shut up, Shut up!

Legos are awesome and anyone who combines the words horror, lego and epic fail in the same post is infact the one who has failed.

I don't know, I'm willing to give this a shot. All of us with our old sets let our imaginations run wild and I'm sure we all came up with elaborate storylines. If the filmmakers can tap into that, we have gold.

I'm pretty sure these are unfounded rumors. Even Hollywood wouldn't be dumb/lazy/desperate enough to try to make a movie out of Lego or Monopoly. The reason they did Transformers et al was becuase there was already a basic story to work with. So, ironically, Hollywood's own lack of creativity would kill such a project because they would have no story to work with.

i remember when i was younger, at around 5 or 6, there were no "sets" where all you did was build the models and play with them. we were given a big tub of legos and we could build whatever we want.
at least my little brother still has some creativity. he buys a set, build it, then destroys it and makes a tank or fighter jet and has a big war with his other tanks and jets.

but a movie? i can kinda see where they are getting it from. because 95% of the new legos are sets (judging by what my little bro brings home) and not tubs of lego bricks, they could easily make a story out of the newer stuff.

Clue was a great movie, and Jumunji was pretty good too.

I can only think of a documentary, when it comes to this. You know, you are interviewing a bunch of twelve-year olds on their parents' attics. Documentary, Discovery Channel Style;

Ron and George have been building for nearly two hours straight now, and as dinner approaches, they are forced to quicken their tempo. But disaster always looms around the corner with the lego builders. Just as the final pieces of the puzzle bricks start to fit together, they seem to have run out of bricks...

See where I'm getting at? We need this.

Lego and monopoly are great, but a movie about them?

On the other hand, I would happily spend money on a movie about tic-tac-toe.

well, its not that bad of a piece of news Martok. I mean its monopoly and Lego being made into movies, how can they mess it up? Its Lego-the greatest thing to come out of Denmark since Vikings and dairy cows:beam:

@Vladimir: what game will it be?

besides, its not as if it will involve some fella who ended up saying that his father is a virgin in arabic-it can't be that bad of a movie. Jumanji was awesomez, and so was clue.*:clown:

*sorry, I just got back from a guy who mispronounced "to the father of bakr" in a way that made him say "to my father, a virgin"

I can't seem to decide what's worse, the fact that Hollywood is starting to makes movies out of toys and board games or the flood of upcoming remakes. Hollywood is desperate, but they are certainly not running out of ideas.
