View Full Version : Forum slow?

Over the past week or so, it seems like the forum has been slowing down. Thread and forum pages take longer to load completely, like the server is under heavy load. I get this from both my work and home PCs, so I don't think it's a connection issue. Has anything changed recently, or is this all due to CapoIII? :7gangster:

Seems to be about the same for me. Is there any particular section of the forums that's moving slower than the rest, drone, or is it all over?

All over, really. Takes about 5-7 seconds to render the full Guild page during the day, it just chunks through. Seems faster now though.

Hmm, I'm not experiencing any problems here. Capo III is also loading just fine.

Doing fine here for the most part.

I haven't noticed slowness, but occasionally the forum "hangs". If I am loading multiple threads, they will all stand still for a minute or so. The only thing that appears is the top bar (with the links to User CP, Chat, etc.)

Hello,

I did not notice this week or today. But I know it is sometimes slow, not sure why. Rushhour, busy servers?

I've noticed this kind of thing happening not just here, but anywhere since I upgraded to Firefox 3.5.2. Websites hang for no apparent reason when I have multiple tabs open. I often get impatient and close the browser. I then have to open my processes and manually shut down the Firefox.exe, or it fails when I try to launch it again. Then when I open it and go back to the site where it was hanging, it fires right up.

I'm wondering if this is a Firefox upgrade issue.

I also use Firefox, 3.0.x at the moment. My usual mode of Org surfing is to hit the front Guild page, go to one of my usual sub-forums, then open up all interesting threads in new tabs, go back to the main, hit another sub-forum, open threads in new tabs, go back, etc. Once I've done this for all but the Frontroom and Backroom (which I do separately, too many threads at once usually), I'll read those opened threads. I'm noticing the slowness when I go back to the main Guild page, as well as opening new sub-fora and threads.

Not happening now, maybe it's just a week-day thing.

I'm also using firefox. And I noticed the Org to be rather slow since this morning.

Yes, very slow this morning. At first I got a "Connection Interrupted" message and couldn't access the site. I was able to access other sites just fine. Just now, when I did manage to access, I noted that it was displaying some weird site location in the lower left status: "static ak.fnbc.net" or something like that. Not sure what that is.

Yeah, there was some total downtime it seems.

Everything seems to be slow. :furious3:

Hmm. Noticed the "tab hang" this afternoon. It might be Firefox though, as I didn't experience it in Opera.

It's not just FF. I got the same connection error message when trying with IE as well.

Seems to be working fine again now, though.

Tab hang? At your browser startup?
