View Full Version : how the hell do i get updates?

not been able to play the game at all as it crashes on loading . system requirements all well below my machine too. i'm assuming the updates should cure the thing but where do i get them . hate using steam but cant find the updates on there anyway. can anyone please point me in the direction of a file i can download? thanks in anticipation

Steam automatically updates the game when it is online, unless you have chosen for it to not.

There are no manual patches, only automatic.

Steam automatically updates the game to the newest version normally. If you right-click on the game in Steam, go to properties and then the update tab, it'll show you whether it is updating automatically or not and you can't be in offline mode obviously or it won't update.

If does seem to be updated to the latest version let us know and we may be able to work out why it is hanging on startup.

My Games -> Right-click on game -> properties -> Local files -> Verify integrity.... and Defrag files.

When does it crash?

At the video startup or main menu?

Check your anti-virus software. I've had mine block ETW once, and I had repeated crashes at startup until I fixed it.

hang on a mo guys, this retail version only supports vista? .what i don't understand is i've tried downloading the demo it won't load either! im running xp32 bit dual core 2.6ghz processor 2gb ram nvidia gforce 9500gt video card.

Dual core 2.6ghz...what? Intel? AMD? Intel Celeron or Core2Duo?

No it couldn't.

It might run slow but not starting at all is quite different.

That said, I have no idea, have you tried deleting the local game content in Steam and then installing the game again?

its the retail copy not steam download i'm gonna give up anyway and forget i ever bought this game. thanks for trying to help guys.

got it going!
dont know why it wouldnt load but seems to be working fine now. ta for the advice guys!can anyone point me towards a good basic strategy guide and also a guide to factions?thanks in advance
