Once you reach the Polybian Reforms, does your old Camilian era troops remain the same or can you retrain them into their Polybian equivalents in the new MICs?:dizzy2:

Crap, so I'm gonna have to choose between my triple-chevron camilian triariis or the new polybian ones

Hey! If u have some outdated godly units left, use them! In my Romani games, everytime i hit that polybian reform, I'd give the empire I'm at war with hell! I'd send in my armies of godly principes and pedites extrordinari and watch them literally tear holes in the enemy line.... :smash:

what a satisfying and glourious end to your old units :2thumbsup:
and if u grab a city or 2 with them, or win a heroic battle or 2, u can live with some visual reminder of those little outdated buggers

Mix the Camillan and Polyban units in the armies, it looks badass.

CAmillan Triarii are better than Polybian ones. When i hit Polybian Reform i usually don't upgrade at least one city just to keep using Camillan Triarii.

CAmillan Triarii are better than Polybian ones.

I think that's a matter of opinion, slightly higher armour vs slightly higher morale. Personally for my Triarii to see action a battle has to be on a knife edge, I prefer more morale in such a situation. I can see where you are coming from though.

Aside from triarii, their eqvites also grew worser.... but with Polybian, all u has to do is train more polybian hastati and principes, they are considerably cheap and easy to get, but capable to slice phalangitai piecemeal... (but they still easily crushed by any cavalry)

You can't turn them into polybian ones but you can still retrain them at the "old" barrack.

Camillan Triari looks cooler also having Mars [I'm not sure but unlikely Medusa] head on the shield.

but capable to slice phalangitai piecemeal
Well I wouldn't call it "piecemeal" but yeah I notice I don't have to pin Elite African Pikemen on all four sides anymore to kill them...
