The Begining
The wind blows, the sun blazes.
A Great Council holds, by all kings. Former foes.
For all knows, a great enemy, baby eating wrenches.
They are creatures in man-form. Claim, they
hailed from the ruins of troia. Wive-thieves.
They are the Romaioi.

"O Mighty Zeus, great father of thunder,
heed our pleas of guidiance. Creatures
siring of Barbaropolis, baby-eating Xenos.
They grow day to day. Megas hellas wails."
Shed not a tear, o Mortals. For salvation
shall bring a thousand blessings to the living.
Know the Roman; Kill the Roman.

Blessed by the vision, the Council cheers.
For they are united, humanity as one. Two
Basileus they elect, Maion and Satalextos.
One guides in spirit; One guides in zeal.
To victory they shall lead. Barbaropolis,
pestilent, corrupt, filthy. Creatures in man-form.
Archeias Kainepolites, Chaplain from Great Hellas.
By orders of Polemarchos Basileos, he lead. A
spearhead of Hellenes. Fore of his depart,
wisdom from Satalextos he seeks:
'What is the greatest failure which we must guard?'
'The failure to die when death would serve the Basileus' purpose.
'What of the times when the enemy is stronger, in body or in number?'
'No xenos is more cunning then a Romaioktonoi. No traitor has the courage of the pious'
'How must the barbaroi be met on the battlefield?'
'The barbaroi fears our purity and nobility. He must therefore be met with the most pure and noble hatred.'
'What right do we have to pass judgement on a dweller of Barbaropolis?'
'I ask of you, what right have we to presume him innocent?'
'What do our enemies see when they look upon the Romaioktonoi?'
'They see their gods and the heroes of their corrupted myths, gathered before them and heralding the end of their world.'
Faith is his shield, there is nothing to fear.
Regent to Maion, a fine Makedones, gifts
Phalangitai of 3, and an ile of fine horsemen.
"There is only the Romaioktonoi,
and they are our shield and protectors."

...A Little background story...
The Ancient Ones
In the long forgotton past eons, there existed an ancient civilisation. They were one of the two only
civillizations in the then primitive and barbaric world. The other were called The Sages, residing in the far
east. They were a benevolent people, with great bodies and minds. They defeated the violent Titans,
whose remains, with the help of The Sages, used to shape heavens and the earth. The Ichor that
remained, The Sages provided the essence of nobility, The Ancient Ones provided the essence of purity.
Thus, in their own image, they created their first children - Man.
Spoilt children
The Ancient Ones doted upon the men of their realm. Dangerous beasts were slain, much knowledge in
various aspects of life were taught, incredible contraptions were built. Mankind's every need were catered
for, using the great knowledge that the Ancients taught. Should there be any obstacles that are beyond the
abilities of Man, their parents would intervene and remove it.
Before long, the essences of The Ancient Ones and The Sages became diluted as Man steep towards
hedonism. The vengeful fragments of Titans began to stir.
Pure Ichor of hatred
The dilution of The Essences had disasterous consequences, a new breed of man-shaped creatures
had formed. They know only the ways of the barbaroi, and are steeped in the jealous hatred of the Titans.
They wreaked havoc amongst all Gaia, slaughtering and killing in their wake. The spoilt men stood no
chance against these terrible man-shaped creatures. Only the rightous few, still strong full of both the
essences of Nobility and Purity, survived. These brave, pure, noble men, formed isolated pockets of
civilisation in various places in the world. They became our direct ancestors. They're isolated, and are
fighting a losing battle, against threats within (their own kind falling), and threats without (the onslaughts of
the fallen).
Last Invervention
The Ancients and The Sages, disgusted by the chaos of the world, regretted their spoilage of their
children. They sought to make amends. They sought to save mankind with one last divine intervention.
Gathered together, The Sages seperated themselves into fragments, of pure noble justice. The Ancients
sacrificed many of their own kin to empower their great leaders into noble beings of total purity. These
empowered Ancients used their power to imbue the fragments of The Sages into all (most, somewhat)
living beings. This gave the inhabitants of Gaia the strength, to purge the horde that are the man-shaped
creatures. A small pocket remained, they built their bastion of barbarism upon seven hills. These
creatures stole the mates of local animals, interbreeding them to bolster their numbers. The Ancients
anticipated this. For although their numbers may increase, they are also diluting their sentinence. The
fortress on the Seven Hills, kept in check by local human raids, was dubbed Barbaropolis (The man-
shaped creatures call their 'city' Roma).
The Ancients, what remained of them, retired to an unknown realm. They sought to refrain from intervening
with mortal matters, only to whisper to gifted individuals (those born with a slightly larger piece of Sage
fragment) their advice. They formed the pantheons of deities of various cultures.
Mutual mistrust
The bastions of humaity survived, they florished. But the memory of the great barbaroi creatures remained.
They remembered their deceit, how they pretended to be a fellow man, striking like a cunning viper with
their poisonous words. Humanity became mistrustful and paranoid. The Age of Isolation bred multitudes of
cultures, language and customs. Paranoia cause many to fall to civil strife, sad results of mistakening one
other as a barbaroi.
Attempts for Unity
Amist this new Age of Civil Strife, one man rose. Naturally born with an exceptionally large piece of Nobility
within him, An Ancient whispered to him. Through his priests and oracles, The Ancient adopted this man
as his son, bestowing him a great mission: The Unity of Mankind.
Upon the weakening of a middle empire, in the wake of another great birth of barbaric man-shaped
creatures, this man embarked upon a great crusade to save and unite humanity. This man was Megas
Alexandros.
Death of a Megas
As we all know, Megas Alexandros died young. He burnt all of his life away to prevent the second coming
of the barbaroi man-shaped creatures. He accomplished half of The Ancient's mission. He failed to
unite man-kind.
For decades Alexandros' generals and companions torn upon one other, forgetting the days of their noble
enterprise. Their wanton strife gave strength to Barbaropolis. It gave them a chance.
The Romaioktonoi
With the whisperings from the Ancient (known as Zeus), Alexandros was fortold of the dangers that lies in
the wake of his death. He used the last of his strength and life in secret. He gave trusted, yet then
unimportant Makedonians missions to all corners of the world.
His last words: "Gaia requires men and women of inquisitive nature, hunters who might seek the Romaioi,
the Traitor, the Fallen, the Xenos...a duty to vigilance"
And thus, gathered secretly amongst the atolls of Bartix, unknown to most of the world. The noblest of men
from all nations and cultures, lead their retinue and companions to form an Order. They elected the two
most noble of their lot to guide them.
The Romaioktonoi was born.

Romaioktonoi Organisation
Current heads
Maion (Symbasileus), Satalextos (Symbasileus), Centurio Nixalsverdrus (Regent to Maion's seat).
History
The first Romaioktonoi were summoned by the loyal servants of Alexandros, based of the large fragment of nobility born within them (still not nearly as large as that of Megas Alexandros') They hail from all Gaia, bringing with them the most pure and noble of their retinue, advisors and most importantly: Elite troops.
These brave, loyal men were organized according to the dictates of the Codex Airetikos, in the event known as the Great Founding. Each Hetairos leads Chapters which consists of those he brought with him when he joins the Romaioktonoi.
Successive foundings over the years have created new chapters. They come along with their respective Hetairos that was summoned into the Romaioktonoi.
To some extent, the Chapters maintain the traditions and character of the nations they descend from.
Chapters adhere to the Codex Airetikos in differing degrees, some regarding any deviation from it as virtual heresy; others, notably the Hammer of Basileos, Sons of Makedonia, HunGeneral's Bloodkin, and Jevi's Baal Lords, only following the Codex in varying manners and zeal.
Inner Member's Organization
----Top Secret----
--Pending Permission to Disclose---
General Organization
The Military of the Romaioktonoi is comprised of semi-autonomous Chapters, each of which is a taskforce in itself, possessing its own ships, logistics, non-combatant personnel and hidden-fortress in a nation, island or naval fleet. There are roughly a hundred Chapters, each led by a Hetairos or above with the title of Chapter Lord.
A chapter's fighting force numbers a nominal 5,000, divided into 5 Chilliarchioi (approx. 1000 troopers), each of which is commanded by a Chilliarchos. Cavalry based chapters have roughly 3,000 men (they're usually divided in a non-Codex manner), but they tend to have stronger logistics and/or other support elements.
The Chapter Lords, most of them of the rank Hetairos, owe their allegiance to the two Symbasileios. Ultimately the Chapter is subject to the orders of the highest-ranking among the Romaioktonoi Inner, although only in a general sense.
Chapters are self contained, highly spartan communities in nature; for most of the common trooper, the Chapter is their world, and the only contact they have with outsiders is in battle. This ensures that their essences remain untainted.
Tactical organization
The traditional Codex Chapter is tactically organized into a number of different types of lochoi (16 men): Tactical (in hellenic chapters they tend to be called Pezoi), Assault (some keltoi calls them 'Tindanotae' or 'Gaesatae') and Missle (Steppe based Chapters are infamous for their HAs). The lochoi types are equipped and trained to fulfil a specific battlefield role, each of the three types designed to complement each other on the battlefield to make a far more effective whole. Different Chapters have different ratios of these lochoi types (Hellenic Chapters distain missles for example) as well as they own way of interpreting these classes. In addition to these three lochoi types/classes, veterans can be formed into an Honour Guard of 256 men. They do not count into the nominal 5000 men of a chapter, and they are led by a Speirarches/Chaplain that answers only to the Chapter Lord.
Different chapters have different names for their Honour Guard.
The Honour Guard are drawn from the best and most experienced warriors of the entire Chapter. The veterans wear the most uniquely powerful of armour and the most deadly of weapons. They are concentrationed together only when the Chapter's most potent fighers are required in a single occasion (usually a perilious one), or as elite heavy cavalry in a pitched battle (famous amongst Hellenic Chapters for their use of the Xyston). Otherwise, they tend to be spread out amongst the Chapter or sent out on 'special missions' by the Chapter Lord.
Chapter cult
A Chapter cult is an integral aspect of a Romaioktonoi Chapter. Every Trooper belong to the Chapter's cult, and accordingly every soldier of a Chapter is a spiritual brother as well as a brother at arms. These warrior cults emphasise honour, comradeship and strength. Chapter cults, often eons in age, have been developed from their own native traditions, and in many cases these cults predate the Romaioktonoi Creed even. Each cult is unique and autonomous, ministered by an inner priesthood of warriors known as Seers/Shamans/Druids/etc. The practises of these Chapters cults, rumoured to be heroic to point of near suicidal, serve to make the Romaioktonoi all the more feared by the Fallen (philromaioi), Xenos (man-shaped evil things) and Romaioi (dweller of Barbaropolis, the original man-shaped barbaric thing).
Prominent Chapters (incomplete list)
Alpha: Rays of Vergina Sun - A 10,000 strong double chapter led by Maion and Satalextos.
Beta: Sons of Makedonia - Centurio Nixalsverdrus, contains a unique Germanic Honour Guard element.
Gamma: Hammer of Basileos
Delta: HunGeneral's Bloodkin - A Cavalry based Chapter. Very formidable.
Epsilon: Jevi's Baal Lords
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I shall return to Chaplain Archeias Kainepolites' (5th Chilliarchia 'Pegasos' of the Sons of Makedonia)
battle tale soon. I'll leave the detailed descriptions of the various Chapters to their respective Chapter Lords.

The Barbaric host approaches. Their number are greater, bolstered by the Fallen and Xenos.
However, Chaplain Archeias knows that these kynai (dogs) are nothing compared to the strength in his men's soul.
Archeias Kainepolites is on a special mission requisitioned by Polemarchos Basileos upon the Sons of Makedonia. Tied down by a Traitor-Hunting crusade elsewhere, Centrio entrusted the command of 5th 'Pegasos' to Chaplain Archeias Kainepolites the Speirarches, knowing that he is capable of leading such an enterprise. Saving only the germanic elements for himself, Centrio also sent off over 200 of his Honour Guard to follow the Chaplain as heavy hoplitai and shock cavalry. For good measure (which proved to be an excellent decision), Archeias also petitioned to his Chapter Lord for the granting of 3 phalangitai units from the 1st Chilliarchia.
A crusading Chapter, the Sons of Makedonia has several fortresses (as opposed to the usual one) and many allies (They are part of the Romaioktonoi too, commonly known as 'Pezoi Romaioktonos'. While not as elite, they are pious and numerous.) to draw upon. Knowing the value of local knowledge, Archeias summoned elements of the 1337th Pezoi Megalle Hellados: Medium skirmishing horses, sturdy heavy infantry, and for luck- a mob of Sphendonetai :clown:.
http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs155.snc1/5771_1131674739890_1467918459_30441677_813198_n.jpg
Scouts, young men still in training, bring back to the camp the news and details of the One True Barbaroi. The dogs swarm from 3 directions, intending to steamroll the humans by force of numbers. Retreat is a sign of cowardice to the Sons of Makedonia, a herecy. Thus, Archeias swiftly ordered a tactical advance, backwards, and to meet their foes head on.
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs135.snc1/5771_1131674779891_1467918459_30441678_4490430_n.jpg
"Steady," Archeias orders his men. Mere formalities, as the men know their place and role by heart and soul. They are the Sons of Makedonia, Guardian of all Hellas. They fight for truth; they fight for hope. They fight for Fatherland; they fight for Romaioktonoi.
The mob of slingers step forward to spark the battle. Boisterous lads, they adorned their lead bullets with curses and deragotary insults. With great satisfaction, they fling the swearword-covered lead towards the Barbaroi.

-=The Clash=-
The enemy were exceptionally plenty, Great Thousands of One True Barbaroi supplemented by an
equal number of The Fallen. Agitated by the peppering of the spendonetai, they approached in a
pitful parody of a battle line. Now, through their eyes, not ears, the men of Pegasos learn the extent
of just how numerous their enemy were. They were outnumbered more than three to one.
The men began to laugh in a haughty manner. Their fathers have trimphed through far greater
numbers in their time, in Issus and Gaugemela. Those young whelps in the scouts call this a 'great
host'? Absolutely HILARIOUS! Some laughed so hard, they loled upon the ground. Some of the
bodyguards, in fact even the Chaplain himself, chuckled and grinned.
The pezoi of the 1337th, however, were not as amused. They were mostly semi-professional troops,
placed upon the flanks of a battleine formed by Chapter soldiers. The level of fighting faced were
minimal (compared to a Chaper Pezoi) and mostly flanking actions. Yet they knew better than to
panic, for they know: It is sweet and honourable to die for the Romaioktonoi.
Less then half a stade away, the Barbaroi makes ready their full advance. The slingers were the only
reason they're not breaking into a full charge.
"Pegasos! Romaioktonoi! SONS OF MAKEDONIA!!!" Archeias rallied, "THIS is the moment of truth. You
will not fear. You will not falter. You will not give a single step to the enemy!"
The lolling men fell back into their ranks, The Chaplain began his speech.
"Enemies of the Romaioktonoi, hear me. You have come here to die. The will of Maion and Satalextos
is with us and we are invincible. Their soldiers will strike you down. Their cavalry will crush you under
their hooves. Their mighty missles will bring the very sky crashing down upon you. You cannot win.
The SymBasileos has given us the greatest weapon to wield. So make yourselves ready. We are
the Romaioktonoi, and today is our Victory Day!"
Addressing to the 1337th, Archeias assured the daunted Pezoi. "Remember, philoi. The blood of the
martyrs are the seeds of the Romaioktonoi! ALL HAIL ROMAIOKTONOI!!!"
That was all that was needed. Morale shot high into the cloud. Ammo spent, the slingers fell back through the line and readied their daggers. The first wave of barbaroi charged. The Romaioktnoi, marched forward in even steps, singing the great hymns of hate. The accumulation of 3 thousand pairs feet thundered upon every tread. Zeus is watching from above.
"Hate! Hate! Hate!
An emotion as pure as it is deep!
Hate! Hate! Hate!
Let it flow, let it run free!"
"They are our mighty Basileus!" an officer cried.

Chapter Alpha/Omega - The Vergina Sons.
Chapter Lord(s):[Kyrios Megas Maion Maroneios, Theos Basileus ton Basileon, Nikator, Hetrogenes, Romaioktonos, Nikesas Barbaropolis. ], [Kyrios Megas Satalextos Zairon Airetikos, Basileus ton
Basileon, Soter, Euergetos Dikaios Epiphanous Philillenoi Seron Nikesas Barbaros]
Founding Region: All of Hellenistic World.
Chapter Home: None, Chapter travels on a massive Naval Armada.
Main Colours/Patterns: Blue and Brazen gold/bronze, adorned with patterns of the Vergina Sun.
Battle Cry: "The Basileus Protects! All Hail Romaioktonoi/Makedonia!"
History
The Early forces of the Romaioktonoi were nothing like as they were now. Any member with the rank
of Hetairos or above were free to govern, tax and raise troops from their respective satrapies in a
feudalistic manner. These troops formed the first incarnation of the Pezoi Romaioktonon (usually just refered as Pezoi). From the locally raised Pezoi, the best were tithed by the Basileus and their
respective Strategos Autokrator to form the Romaioktonon Agema. The Agema are the direct
ancestors to the Chapter forces that exists today.
It all began when Antigonus, a secret operative of the Romaioktonoi (he refused the seat of the
Basileus thrice for reasons unknown) predicted the inevitable of his failure. After 'winning over' the
Agryaspides, he held a secret council with their leading officers. Nobody knows the details of the
meeting, other than that the previously fickle verterans and their descendants swore oaths of eternal loyalty in the name of Alexandros towards Romaioktonoi. Antigonos then sent them (along with their baggage train n etc) to Sibyrtios, the Macedonian satrap of Arachosia, with the official order to 'despatch' them by small groups of two or three to dangerous missions, to 'dwindle their numbers' rapidly. One by one, the veterans were 'killed in action', their families, property, friends, servants and slaves vanished along with them. They boarded great fleets of ships, covered completely in pitch and tar to remain hidden, and sailed for the atolls of Bartix.
After the Heinous Aimilios-Paullos Heresy, The Romaioktonon Agema split into 3 seperate forces. The core and elite remained with the lone Symbasileus as the "Rays of the Vergina Sun", conmemorating the Alexandreian heritage. They formed the Vergina Sons as we all know. The non-hellenes and those that took no part during Alexander's Great Crusade were doled off to kick start the new Codex
Chapters and as officers of the reformed Pezoi. The remainder, Makedonians and Hellenes, vengeful
against The Horrible Traitor, joined Centurio the Germanaios and his Germanaio-Somatophylake as
the eternally crusading Sons of Makedonia. Their crusade continues to this day.
Culture
Many reputations of the heroicness of the Chapters of Romaioktonoi originated from the cultic rituals
and celebrations of The Vergia Sons. Once a year, the bravest 100 men of the Chapter would climb
(all the while armed) a sheer cliff, with only tent pegs, some rope and basic dry rations. Many would
perish, but these brave men would aid one other along the way. Their objective is not to compete,
but to emulate the bravery of the Agrianikoi of Alexandros during the Great Crusade. Once at the top, they would set a linen cloth at the tip of their dory and wave towards the observing masses below.
Upon seeing the waving cloths above, the crowd would sing a great war hymn in unison, marking the
begining of the celebrations. Unwatered wine would be drunk, roasts and other cuisines be feasted upon. Occasionally a few Romaioi captives would be given a sword (even full panalopy) and set free to roam the premise. These gibbering, gladius-swinging, pila-throwing mad wrentches never live long,
they're usually punched to death on the spot.
The Initiates
Unlike all other chapters, the Vergina Sons do not utilize their initiates as scouts, psiloi or light
cavalry. Instead, they're organised into corps of marines called Leukaspides or 'White Shields'.
They are assigned to a ship, where they will learn the harsh ways of fighting, sailing, and winning.
Should the need arise, they may armed themselves in the manner of heavy peltasts and perform
some land operations near the coast-like their counterparts in other chapters. However, the lack of
horses impeads their deployment range. If in a pinch though, they may even take up the sarrisae
and hold a battleline. Although they may be initiates, but their valour are not to be underestimated. If it weren't for low attrition rates, many are already more than qualified to become a full Brother himself!
The Somatophylax
Another noticable trait of the Vergina Sons, are their Honour Guards. 512 strong, many of their
chaplains and captains are Chapter Lords themselves. Should the need be, they may be called
upon along with their Chapter's Honour Guard. Such a force would be completely unstoppable.
Chapter Fleet Location
The Vergina Sons do not maintain a Fortress as their home. The Fleet is their home. Many secret
Fortress-ports, however, are manned (with Initiates and dependants). The main fleet usually loiters
around Syria, as with half of the chapter. The rest, along with the Basileus himself are constantly in
places unknown.....watching, guiding, fighting.

Chapter: Agema Soteros Hellenon
Leader: Megas Strategos Hellenon (and his retinue)
Situated on: Kroton (Main base of Operation), Syrakousai
Deeds:
Megas Strategos Hellenon, the founder of the Agema Soteros Hellenon, was a Hellen and formerly Misthophoros Strategos, serving for pay for Syrakousai (before its fall to the Romaioi) and Taras (before its fall to the Romaioi). He took a risk of minimalizing the number of Somatophylakes so that he can save up for a business so that he can raise funds for his chapter of the Romaioktonoi. He succeeded, risking his life countless times while he was a Misthophoros. This had 2 ramifications: it made him wily and closer to his less elite soldiers, but it also allowed him to save up for his own trading fleet. Initially, pirates have victimized his fleet, but later as he saved up for his convoy fleets of Trieres, Megas Strategos started to make a profit. His trading fleet allowed him to establish relations with many merchants (some ended up joining his retinue). Megas Strategos now was able to be independent, just before the fall of those two patron cities one time or another. Megas Strategos Hellenon went to hiding, secretly raising fund out of Romaioi watch. Then he raised his own army (didn't have the name yet) and liberated Kroton from the Romaioi. Romaioi sent armies to take back Kroton, which were repulsed as the Strategos gained experiences from his countless wars. Megas Strategos, now having a retinue of engineers, strategists, merchants, and blacksmiths, established the Megale Schole in Kroton (mentioned more at the Social segment) whose tuitions were much lower than a standard Schole (allowing for a massive increase in human capital for the Romaioktonoi cause). After the liberation of Kroton, The Megas Strategos declared that the Agema Soteros Hellenon is here and hopefully a part of Romaioktonoi. Later on, Megas Strategos liberates Syrakousai and fortifies it (along with a larger port).
Economics:
Agema Soteros Hellenon derives most of its income from taxes from trade, as the Megas Strategos Hellenon encourages trade with his public trading fleet. He takes a revolutionary stand: a government-maintained trading fleet that a merchant can rent a portion of for a price much lower than the cost to buy a ship. Merchants still can choose a private choice, which was often cheaper to compete, but merchants choosing the government choice often were better protected as government knew when the ships leave (it negotiated with the renters when to set sail), making the navy better informed of the rented fleets' locations. This allowed for a rise in entrepreneurship (and successful businesses too). Agema Soteros Hellenon has its own fleet of trading fleet specifically for its use, and 6 fleets of 8 pentereis to guard the water between Syrakousai and Kroton. It saves up for a fleet of Poliremes. It also wants to establish official trading relations with other Romaioktonoi and the Karchedoi.
Social:
Socially Agema Soteros Hellenon makes the government involved in the average life of a citizen. Although it leaves citizens alone generally, it expects them to pay taxes and contribute to the public works (free volunteers are paid, although most are rented slaves from private slaveowners). It also established the Megale Schole of Kroton (something very reminiscent of a public school) that charges a low tuition (affordable by most middle-class) to encourage a more educated body of people. In fact, the retinue of Megas Strategos often teach in the Megale Schole of Kroton (which can house up to 1500 people with its 20 rooms and a main hallway)
Military:
Agema Soteros Hellenon burrows heavily from the Maks, having its own body of elite phalangitai named Choreutai Theou 2000 men strong. Agema Soteros Hellenon alsofields a talantiaios lithobolos and 48 pentereis (and 96 tetrereis). It however lacks a strong cavalry arm, as there is a dearth of horses, as well as a lack of trained men suited to cavalry. It has a strong defense, having a large port on both cities that it holds, along with large walls (Megale Teichea) to protect them.
Quotes:
"Romaioktonoi! 'Clap 5 times'"
"Κυνες Ρομαικοι προσβαλλεσιν!" - Roman dogs are attacking!
"φορετε θανατον πολεμιοις!" - Lit. carry deaths to the enemy!
"You will be like the Karchedoi: Barbaropolis will be showered with salt."
