Ships and Historical Battles

Two questions
Has anyone been able to create new ships or only modify current stats?
Has anyone been able to create new historical battles/modify battle maps?

The Lordz modding group have made new maps but they are land battles only. As for ships....well there aren't new ships per say as in a whole new model, but I have seen some ship mods.
